http://www.heraldsun.com/view/full_story/11054658/article-Irving-update--Cast-set-to-come-off-on-Feb--4?instance=most_popular

The freshman point guard, sidelined with a right big toe injury, will have the cast removed from his right foot on Feb. 4 to begin his rehabilitation, his father, Drederick Irving, said Tuesday.

Drederick Irving said his son has been able to lift weights and do some cardio work to help stay in shape.

But the real test will come on Feb. 4 when the toe is exposed to more stressful activities for the first time since the initial injury. How the injured area responds will determine if Irving will be able to return to the Blue Devils this season.

We finally get an update. I cut the useless info from the link.

I hope so. Even if we don't get him it pushes someone else down.

Been looking at some prospects for the late 1st round, some Euro guys....anyone seen Boran Bogdanovic? Just looking at his numbers he seems like he has a good 3 point shoot(35% on almost 6 attempts), and gets to the line at a decent rate.

Or how about Kawhi Leonard from San Diego State as a potential 3/4? 6'7, but has a huge wingspan and nice athleticism. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Kawhi-Leonard-5821/

Kenneth Faried is another athletic guy, great rebounder, hustle guy. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Ken ... ried-5325/

then there's always Lucas Nogueira.. His physical tools stand out, really long, 7 foot, and can jump. But doesn't seem to want to put in the work.

The Wolves won 4 times in a row when I tried it. Which doesn't change the fact that we will drop 3 spots and end up with Jared Sullinger.

So many players projected to be in the lottery were not even born in America. I haven't really seen too many international beasts recently. I wonder if this year can change all that (hopefully Rubio will help).

I'm sad I never got a chance to see Kanter play. If we fail in the lottery, I always wondered if we should just take a shot with Kanter. I noticed that Kanter's profile on ESPN Lottery Mock Draft stated that, "his smallish stature for a center limit his upside a bit." DX states that he measures in at 6’10 with shoes and has a 7’1 wingspan (although they say he's 6'9" on the same site).

how come Brandon Knight is regarded so poorly, he strikes me as kinda beast?

I think this is my preliminary top 5:

P Jones
D Williams
B Knight
Irving
Barnes

3.7 assist, 3.3 turnovers

He's basically a 6'3" SG at this point.

From DX:

Knight's passing game in general is a major cause for concern based on what he's shown very early on in college, as he rarely looks for teammates when creating his own shot, getting most of his assists by simply moving the ball around the perimeter in the flow of the offense.

yeah it's to bad that the greatest prospects in this draft are all pretty much power forwards where we are stacked at..i think kanter can be an al horford type of guy, it will be interesting to see how he measures out - apparently he was schooling nazr mohameed in scrimages.

Irving, Terrance Jones, Perry Jones(possibly a sf/pf/c), Alec Burks, Vessley(sf), Harrison Barnes...I think we can really only talk someone who has a superstar ceiling. Kahn played it safe with Wes last season, he needs to swing for the fences this season.

If we somehow did get Irving, any chance we can roll with him and Rubio like they wanted to do with Rubio/Flynn? Irving at least has solid size. I haven't seen him at all though, so I really don't know.

Everywhere I read about it him it says that he feels like a superstar already and doesn't need to work anymore. He also definitely needs to put on weight, he's like 7'0 200 lbs..

I think this is my preliminary top 5:

P Jones
D Williams
B Knight
Irving
Barnes

Knight's good, should be a solid player. PG actually looks to be a surprisingly deep position this year (depending on what the freshman class decides), although Irving looked like the only one worth picking towards the top of the draft.

Jones is really making a push towards that #1 slot right now, 20+ on good efficiency in 4 of his last 6 games. Looking more confident and not allowing himself to be such a wallflower.

A Williams-Love-Beasley frontcourt would create so many mismatches on both sides of the ball and would be a ton of fun to watch if it clicked.

Knight's solid, and Calipari PG's have been a pretty safe bet the last few drafts (Rose, Evans, Wall, Bledsoe), but I don't think I'd put him top 5.

Irving's awesome, hope he gets healthy soon.

I have a tough time buying or selling on Barnes. Every time I watch UNC he's invisible, except for 1 or 2 plays that cause a "wow that dude's talented" reaction, and he makes those plays look so easy and natural that it makes me slightly bitter he doesn't make them more often.

I have a tough time leaving Valanciunas and Kanter out of the top 5, even though I haven't seen them play as much as I have the other guys. Even though I like Pekovic, I think finding a center besides Darko is probably the most pressing need other than a stud wing (and I don't see any safe bets for that in the draft).

Valanciunas gets hyped a bit too much, but he's mobile, active, has good size, soft touch around the basket and makes his free throws.

I really wish Kanter had been eligible this year (even though I dislike Kentucky), because he looked like such a beast in the Nike Hoop Summit. He doesn't have the ideal size/athleticism package to pair with Love, but a Darko/Love/Kanter big man rotation with Tolliver and Beasley mopping up the extra minutes would be interesting.

Some links please? Not trying to question you, just want to read more about the guy. All I have to go on is some youtube footage and a couple games from the FIBA tournament this summer I made sure to catch after DX pimped him a bit. Looked really active, which is why it's somewhat surprising to hear he doesn't want to put in work.

EDIT: Never mind a link if you're just going off of nbadraft.net, which is what the 200 lbs weight makes it seem.
