I think this is my preliminary top 5:
P Jones
D Williams
B Knight
Irving
Barnes
Knight's good, should be a solid player. PG actually looks to be a surprisingly deep position this year (depending on what the freshman class decides), although Irving looked like the only one worth picking towards the top of the draft.
Jones is really making a push towards that #1 slot right now, 20+ on good efficiency in 4 of his last 6 games. Looking more confident and not allowing himself to be such a wallflower.
A Williams-Love-Beasley frontcourt would create so many mismatches on both sides of the ball and would be a ton of fun to watch if it clicked.
Knight's solid, and Calipari PG's have been a pretty safe bet the last few drafts (Rose, Evans, Wall, Bledsoe), but I don't think I'd put him top 5.
Irving's awesome, hope he gets healthy soon.
I have a tough time buying or selling on Barnes. Every time I watch UNC he's invisible, except for 1 or 2 plays that cause a "wow that dude's talented" reaction, and he makes those plays look so easy and natural that it makes me slightly bitter he doesn't make them more often.
I have a tough time leaving Valanciunas and Kanter out of the top 5, even though I haven't seen them play as much as I have the other guys. Even though I like Pekovic, I think finding a center besides Darko is probably the most pressing need other than a stud wing (and I don't see any safe bets for that in the draft).
Valanciunas gets hyped a bit too much, but he's mobile, active, has good size, soft touch around the basket and makes his free throws.
I really wish Kanter had been eligible this year (even though I dislike Kentucky), because he looked like such a beast in the Nike Hoop Summit. He doesn't have the ideal size/athleticism package to pair with Love, but a Darko/Love/Kanter big man rotation with Tolliver and Beasley mopping up the extra minutes would be interesting.
