Edwards is absolutely terrifying. If you'd have told me 12 months ago that it wouldn't be outlandish to say this kid could end up as the best Timberwolf of all time I'd have scoffed more than a little bit.

Regardless of what happens for the rest of this series, we've got ourselves a team here.

I remember when I was worried he was another Wiggins or Wes Johnson.

Great win. We’re not contenders, but this experience will be very beneficial. So excited that Ant is not affected by the magnitude of it all.

Nice job on game 1 win! Memphis is my pick to win it all but I'm hoping MIN wins.

My father and I were discussing the series and I said to him that any game we play against them is 50-50 that we win it. He responded by saying a lot had to go right for us to win tonight. The key flaw in his argument, and something I don’t think we talked about enough, is how many Wolves had bad games tonight. Dlo and Naz were both awful. JMAC and Prince were both well below their usual standard, and V8 wasn’t bad per se, but also didn’t move the needle much in this one. Beverly was good but was by no means at his best. We had four players have great games (Ant, KAT, Beasley, and MCD,) and everyone else was average or below. I am not saying this to complain, I am saying this to point out, we have a margin for error that should not be overlooked. Now I sincerely hope we don’t need to dig into it in the next game, but to say everything had to go just so and every chip had to fall just the right way is not correct. We had a lot of bad bounces with the refs and half the team played average to poorly and we still won.

There were some possessions today where KAT was doubled and he quickly passed it out off the double instead of taking lot of time before passing it. The possessions where he passed it out quickly when doubled were so much more productive..he needs to keep doing this more frequently.

Another key dynamic in this matchup is how KAT is a bad matchup for Adams. Will this force Grizzlies to bench Adams and go with JJJ or Anderson at 5? If so, then that would also take away one of Grizzlies's big weapons - their offensive rebounding which is just amazing when Adams is on floor. It will be an interesting decision for Grizzlies coaching staff to make.

I think they know they cannot have Adams on Towns outside the paint. More likely JJJ will guard Towns and Adams will guard V8. The problem for the Griz is Adams isn’t quick enough to take full advantage of that strategy. Also JJJ is foul prone and already has 1 tech. Two more or one more and a flagrant and he will be suspended.

As big an issue as defending KAT is, the Griz are realizing they also need a plan for Ant. I felt like the extra attention was on Dlo today and that likely cannot continue. Opportunities will abound as we match up very well against Memphis.

Any of our advanced stat guys can you please help me out? I keep looking for pace stats on this game and I just cannot find it. I appreciate anything you can do.

I wonder if Grizz will sit Adams and start Clarke with JJJ on Towns? Then try to do the Clippers strat on KAT?

If so, DLO needs to be locked n loaded

Guarantee the Grizzlies will attempt to pull a Clippers. Every team will. They are also going to attack KAT hard to get him flustered and in foul trouble. We are really going to have to hope that Towns keeps his head, that's going to be their main plan IMO. It will probably be their best shot too as Ant and Dlo are no consistent enough to guarantee they can make Memphis pay if KAT gets shut down.

  I’m in Laker/Clips/Doyer/Rams/ Chargers/ Raiders/USC/Kings territory. I don’t have cable. I like to go out. I pick a bar w a ton of screens & ask to get the Wolves game on one screen. I never get audio. Sometimes the bar person asks me, “u said the Wizards?” They don’t even know we have an nba team. :nonono:

It was fun having a bunch of loud Laker fans cheering for the Wolves against their hated rival Clippers, meanwhile of course I had to listen to the Doyers announcers as the Twins bullpen imploded.

Memphis doesn’t have the personnel to pull what LA did. Batum was an absolute menace. Very smart, seasoned defender.

Probably also gets us to play mcdaniels more if they have to pull adams and stick jjj and Clarke out there.

RoCo &/or Batum would be a nice addition to Minny’s front court.

Wasn’t he also “manna from heaven” or was that just Donnie Darko?

Haha that was Darko. Portland (?) ended up matching our Batum offer.
