If he falls to the Miami pick, i would consider taking a flier on Jennings. Im not taking him if we pick anywhere in the top 10 though.

Haha Banks the Tank. Dude is huge

Couple big games involving potential draftee's tonight

Arizona St (Harden) at USC (DeRozan/Taj Gibson)

and

Arizona (Budinger/Hill) at UCLA (Holiday/Collison)

Devilz should go nuts over the latter game.

I agree with the canis article that the greater value is to focus on the backcourt with the early draft and use a trade/free agency for the sf spot.

I like summers. I have seen a bit of him with my hibbert devotion and I do not think summers will be a better pro sf than ryan gomes is.

I guess the question right now is holiday or harden for foye's backcourt mate. can harden be enough of a playmaker to give foye the offguard freedom? perhaps holiday is the proper piece. true pg good size defensive focus.

btw anyone see lopez vs oden tonight?

Oden got in foul trouble early, which seems to be his MO. Dont get me wrong a lot of young big men do tend to get in foul trouble.

I'm pretty sure no one has ever seen Telfair do a windmill dunk. I hope no one ever calls Jennings another Telfair again. If you think they are alike then you clearly need to watch Jennings more. Jennings has double the explosion and tripple the court vision. The only thing they have in common is they both can dribble circles around people and the both have flair.

Don't hate on DeAndre Jordan, that's a low blow. Tell me you wouldn't love him on the Wolves right now....I dare ya.

Cant shoot, cant defend, small in stature, operhyped coming out of high school, chose to forgo College, and underachieved once hitting a bigger league.

:dontknow: Sounds like Telfair to me.

Interesting Note:

USC and Arizona State played tonight and DeRozan had his best game of the year while Harden had his worst.

DeRozan: 22 Points (8-13 FG, 1-1 3pt, 5-7 FT), 7 Rebounds, 2 Assists, and a Block

Harden: 4 Points (0-9 FG, 0-3 3pt, 4-7 FT), 7 Rebounds, and 1 Assist

Holiday also had a pretty weak night from a numbers stand point.

Gophers also won tonight

Lawrence Westbrook scored 29 points, maybe we should use one of our late draft on this local kid?

DeRozan hit a 3 pointer!!! I believe that his first of the year... yep, 1-15. You also left out that he got 3 steals.

Glad to see him step up in a big game against a quality team. If he keeps that up, I have no problem with him being the Wolves top pick. In fact, although he hasn't gotten gaudy stats all year, he has been pretty efficient throughout.

Straight outta Compton!

PS: Looks like Holiday was in foul trouble. He actually had a pretty efficient game for 16 mins.

there's been more than a few games like that, that's what concerns me about him.

Harden had a really bad game.
I know it's 1 game, but I wonder if scouts are concerned that he struggled so much against Hackett, maybe the first guy he's gone up against this year who's ever shown something akin to NBA quality defense w/ 6'5 size?

The Draft Express mock has been updated. http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2009/

They have us taking:
#7-Stephen Curry
#17- Darren Collison
#27 Jerome Jordan

Jeff Teague has SHOT up their rankings to #6. Thabeet fell to #8.

2 out of 3 ain't bad, but I hate the Curry pick. I said Collison at the Miami pick and Jordan at the Boston pick yesterday. I got talent! ;-)

Now if we can get our balls picked and move up to #3 and take Holiday, I'm happy.

Quick poll, if we're #3 and it goes Griffin, Harden, would you guys rather have Monroe or Holiday. I liked Monroe the one game I saw him play. Is he a legit 6'10? Or is he Al Jeff and Kevlar 6'10" where he actually's an inch or more shorter than that? Is he a legit center or a PF masking himself in the 5 spot? Is his intelligence and even demeanor actually a sign he doesn't care?

At this point, I'd like to see us come away with Holiday, Teague, Evans, DeRozan or Turner and Aldrich.

DX has Evans, DeRozan, Turner and Aldrich not declaring.

In your scenario, I think I see what people are offering for Monroe and if those aren't > than Holiday, you take Holiday.

yeah, I prefer Holiday and what he brings, just curious on people's opinion of Monroe because I'd heard negatives things, but he looked great in the one game I saw him. Wasn't sure if I just got lucky and saw his one good game.

Oh, and in this scenario, I sure as hell hope we draft Thabeet instead of Curry.

C - Thabeet/Jordan
PF - Jefferson/Love/Smith
SF - Marvin Williams/Brewer/Gomes
SG - Foye/Miller
PG - Collison/Telfair

I kinda like it.
