Thibs didn't make any harsh moves for 1 full year, he sat back and evaluated his players.
Thibs got his star in Butler, he had a pretty good idea what the Bull's front office thought about all kinds of players around the league, he just had to wait them out.
Thibs moved Rubio out to clear space and get a first, exactly what he tried to do with New York with Rose and a 1st round pick, he waited it out. He didn't just want to clear space, he wanted a 1st round pick also and he got it.
Thibs may already have a deal EARLY for a PG he wants which would mean on his terms, both money and years.
He's not made one hasty move yet for some reason people are still thinking he's not exactly sure what he's doing. Thibs is looking at long term, not just next year.
There's probably still cap space which if they have a contact for Teague already figured out, Thibs knows exactly how much he has to work with... isn't it logical he has more plans or is doing all this for a specific purpose?
Well thought out post. Here is what some posters might be worried about. I get we have been out of the playoffs for 13 years...and you can't always keep on building for the future. But for some of us, this team feels like a 5th or 6th seed in the west...and honestly, we are not a title contender next season or even the season after that with Golden State looking like they will be good for the next 3-4 years. We traded 3 young key p pieces with team control for Butler. I get Butler is an excellent two way player. But he is not Michael Jordan or Scottie Pippen. We could have been patient with LaVine and the other two pieces we traded to see how they looked at the end of this year. With all these moves it feels like we are almost moving all in on a team that seems to be a 5th seed in the west. If you are going to move all in, I'm not sure that Teague is the guy you want to move all in with. I get it....we still have Wiggins and KAT.....but maybe the move all in was a little pre mature.
