There better be like 3 draft picks for what little HOU has to offer who fit with MN.

Gordon and three first round picks works for me. Even if they are Houston picks one is likely to turn out good and we could get lucky and two turn out.

Late word has the Wizards making a push for Butler. If they are including Porter done deal.

Porter has been my best case scenario for a while. I've thought a deal around Butler for Porter made a lot of sense in terms of potential trade destinations. Washington needs to do something to get off the treadmill and Porter would be a great fit in Minnesota (Porter is also the single best piece that is realistically available).

Wonderful, 2 bad max contracts, that's how you build a contender!
Porter would fit in good but man, 50-70 million for Wiggins and Porter, then adding in Towns 30-35 million. For some reason, if I don't think it's going to work much better with Towns and Wiggins then it did for Wall and Beal.

Porter is totally worth his Max contract.

He's a good player but he's just a high level role player.

I'd think so, I could see why someone would say that.

Two questions I ask myself about proposed Butler trades. First, does the deal make the Wolves a solid playoff team for the next year or two. Second, are the Wolves getting back assets or picks that have the potential to provide a solid contribution in 3-4 years time. In a trade with Houston the answer to both questions is very likely no. At least with Porter we would be getting a player who could realistically be a very good starter both now and 3 years down the road. Plus, I'd rate Porter as a much, much better player than Gordon.

I don't care role player or not. He is great.

Keep in mind, Sam Amico could be putting out a story that a GM wants out there. If people listen, he benefits by reducing the trade value or trading partners. Even if he doesn’t trade for Jimmy, he is getting ahead of complaints, if Jimmy gets traded elsewhere at a bargain price.
It’s not the first time a reporter has done a source a favor by planting a story for him, and he gets rewarded later with inside access. It’s definitely not the first time Amico has done it.

Re: Butler has requested a trade (Part II)
Woj podcast where he and Bobby Marks talk for 45min about the Butler situation. A few takeaways I had:
- Dealing a player like Butler takes more than a week or two, Minnesota needs to be patient to get an acceptable deal
- Almost every other trade for a player at Butler's level took 2-3 months
- Taylor is really screwing things up by inserting himself into the trade process
- Rare to do a deal before December 15 (when newly signed FA can be traded)
- Wolves aren't going to find a deal like the Spurs did for Kawhi (where they get back an all-star level talent)
- They don't see this ending quickly unless Taylor forces a deal (which is unlikely be a good deal for the Wolves)

He is good, I don't see any team saying... oh man, don't let Porter get on a role, he'll carry them.
He had 16 20+ games last year, he also had 16 games of 9 or few points.
Also 4 seasons he's made the playoffs averaging 10 pts, 6.3 reb, 1.6 ast.
2 max slots and getting 4 total assists from the 2 of them.... maybe the PF or Towns will pick up those assist numbers.

Re: Butler has requested a trade (Part II)
The Taylor thing worried me. A lot of fans were happy he was wanting to get something done but I am worried he is rushing. Take the time to get a deal we can live with.

I am completely joking with this blue text, because I obviously cannot do this, but....'
The next poster to put cite anything with the name Sam Amico gets a twenty-four hour ban!!!
Joking aside, the reason for that fake-threat is that Sam Amico is a known plagiarist who has been caught making up sources. Here is a long post from a couple years back I had on him.
Domejandro wrote:This is a start to a much larger concept/thread that I hope to make, but hopefully you all can bear with me and provide a bit of input to help me out in the process.
To put it briefly (as to not scare off the help), I am interested in grading out the integrity of various NBA-analysts/journalists to dictate who presents legitimate information, and expose/recognize those that are brazenly dishonest, or are questionable with their proposed "sources". Given that we have entered an "Era of Online Propaganda", it is more important than ever to promote those that maintain their integrity, and condemn those that shill out to their employers and audiences.
The catalyst to this thread being made is Sam Amico, a Cleveland reporter who has (for over three years now) continually lied to shovel various reports that are heavily slanted in favour of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is easily in the "Top three Domejandro Hack List", as he takes already given reports and LIES about their content.Spoiler:
That is actually a brief and lazily cobbled together version of my full complaints with him (eventually I hope to write something much more scathing if I find the time; working off of two hours of sleep in the past forty-eight hours makes it difficult to be coherent), but my hopes are that people can present examples of negative reporting from various individuals, and showcase other reporters that are reputable.
What is incredibly important is that all because somebody reports something you don't like does not mean they are inherently "wrong" or "dishonest"; that defeats the entire purpose of this exercise. Often times a dishonest reporter can be found by how much they cater to the audience that they are supposedly reporting for....Spoiler:
