Re: Free Agency Thread
It was a bad trade for both teams. they spent more on a position that's filled already. If anything we should have got Larry back in the deal.
Markkanen would be a disaster for this team. We'd have our top three payed players missing games all season.

It's easy to swap spit like alot of teams have ... how many of those moves so far will translate to winning? Prolly not many, but it does give a new look for the fan. Most are minor roster tweaks, cap moves, and a few serious overpays. A small few will have a positive impact. There will still be collatoral opportunities from other potential moves via Philly (simmons?), Portland (Lilliard?), Washington (Beal?, Kuzma?), Dallas, Indiana (Turner?), Chicago (Markkanen?), etc... who knows.
Not like Rosas doesn't understand the need for an addition or two, but what have the KAT/DLo duo proven together to warrant a FA to jump onboard? Nothing. Neither is a leader. ANT has inspired the franchise with some hope. Wiggins wasnt the answer - heck he's been on the block since traded to GS. Simply said these 3, specifically, need to prove they can play winning basketball ... Then I can see a PF have intruiged. For now we need to hope we can snag something of PF in a 3-way or sign/trade.
Is it really swapping spit? a lot of teams actually got better with the moves they made so far. Or they moved a player to get back value that will either grow with the team, or can be flipped.
Rubio/Prince sway can be a good or bad move for either team, but it was ultimately more of a cap move by the Wolves. Alot of teams getting better is more opinion on paper, but yes, a few moves do look pretty good. If we add a solid defender and/or quality PF that will look good too. All depends what we are trying to accomplish in the background in terms of roster moves vs impact moves.
All aside, Markkanen is the most realistic move. Kuzma is a darkhorse. The Turner talks have been quiet. Simmons is likely out of our league. Vanderbilt is hanging out there yet now too.
I get that there seems to be buzz around Markkanen, but I think that is just from his camp to get the Spurs to pay more. Do the Bulls really want Juancho or Culver or both? It's not like Lauri is already signed and they are interested in expiring contracts? Will Rosas give up a first for a guy who gets hurt every season?? Plus, Dane said he's heard nothing from his sources. Doogie said he has heard the two sides have talked. I get the feeling Dane's sources are more Wolves related - guys he met while going to games, while Doogie has always tried to build relationships with agents. My guess is LM's agent has texted Doogie. My point is Markkanen is not coming here.
Now, Kuzma is a whole different story. The Wizard or Nets would love to get off his deal for expirings.

Markannan is a slightly better Jauncho, paid twice as much and will miss twice as many games

Juancho is always hurt, idk why people are acting like he's an ironman. He's hurt right now.

lauri is made of finer glass than Juan and he will cost over twice as much and a first round pick also? Yikes.

If it’s Markannen/Coby white for Juancho/Culver/reid I could live with that I guess..

Based on what exactly? 5 seasons of Juancho averaging 51.4 games.
Lauri over 4 seasons is 55.25
