I totally get why Lebron said that they have a better core now than before he went there for the second time.

The Lakers had a better core before he showed up and traded everyone for AD.

That's not true and they got a chip. Worth it.
And I'm not AD biggest fan.

That’s sort of how I feel. No matter what you pay to bring in a star, your side did OK in the trade if you win a ring. AD to LAL, Jrue to MIL, heck, even Love to CLE, all were probably overpays in terms of value. But the goal is to win a championship.

I think LAL wrecked their team later, with the Westbrook deal, but I’ll eat crow if they figure out a way to win a ring.

You guys should read this. It sounds like Zion really is on thin ice. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/zion-williamson-skipped-workouts-during-094327427.html

Getting a little concerned that COVID might derail the season

Wiggins might win a ring this season. Wild.

So I think it is 50/50 that the wolves game against the lakers is postponed. They need 8 healthy players and between natural injuries and Covid I am not sure they get there. They have 8 guys either out, questionable, or probable. If I am LA I might have the undecideds choose not to play to force the leagues hand. If the Lakers are forced to play, then they will be extremely short handed and I could see us feasting.

AD has an MCL sprain. Re-evaluated in four weeks.

Lots of talk about trades popping off earlier in the week, so far I haven't heard much.

Wouldn’t surprised me if Lakers made a move but I just am not sure what assets they have to give up.

They just very rarely happen this early. It opened up the possibilities, but teams will still tend to wait until closer to the deadline.

Dallas played the Jazz really tough tonight, they got some really good replacement players that fit well. Brunson is a damn beast. They are tougher than they look.

I'm still very much surprised Clevland is balling like they are. You could argue that the east is better than the west this year and they are killing it, well above .500.

I also think it's shocking that the Grizzles took off without Ja Morant, they were around us in the standings and they blasted way ahead during that stretch.

I think a sign of a good team is one that can handle its star being absent and still win. The good teams on the NBA have multiple guys who can be relied upon. Frequently the wolves just don't have the players who can carry a team if a star or two are gone,

They added a bunch of quality guys tho.
We are talking about Markannen, Rubio, and especially Mobley. Is a team, a team.

They can play in different styles, inside, outside.

"Ricky Rubio had 27 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists for Cleveland before injuring his left knee on a non-contact stop in the lane with 2:20 left. Rubio had to be carried off the court by teammates."
---------------

It looks bad. ACL like and I think the one he injured here years ago. We can only hope for the best. Ricky has been playing great so this could be devastating.

Yeah, he hurt his left knee after making contact with Kobe’s knee. No contact knee injury, he grabbed the front of his knee as well. I’d bet big bucks on a torn acl. :(
all I ever needed was somebody with some reason who can keep me sane

Like I said on CanisHoopis, former Wolves are dropping like flies too. D Rose surgery, Roco Covid, now Rubio. Soon Lavine will break something.
