Around the league 22/23

Post#301 » by minimus » Thu Dec 29, 2022 3:24 pm

I can't stop thinking that Josh Hart would be an ideal replacement for Beverley/DLo. He is top rebounder at SG/PG position 8.5 RPG !!!. He is a veteran, he shot with league average from 3pt line, he moves the ball. He gets only 12 per year. Am I crazy?

Our players should learn how to play like Ingles. This guy is smart and tough. Our players are neither smart nor tough. Talented - yes, athletic - yes, skilled - yes, big (Gobert and Towns) - yes. But they are not smart, they are not tough.

We do have players who are both smart and tough. They've just all been injured.

Donovan Mitchell dropped 71 points. Remember when people thought he was worse than Gobert? And that Gobert was the reason Utah was a top 5 seed? Lol. Oh but the stats say Gobert is a top 10 player!!!!

Our friend Gorgui Dieng was just waived by the Spurs, so they could have an open roster spot to start selling their cap space to lux teams.

We could be 6th if we beat the Pistons.

How crazy is it that just last week was the lowest point of the season?

Keep in mind, Tuesday's Suns/Warriors game will drop one of them down a half-game before we even play again. Hopefully Dallas helps us too.

A lot of Western Conference teams not playing very well right now. The Eastern Conference is actually like 15 games up head-to-head. Last year they were pretty even with Eastern Conference ending up 2 games up at the end of the year. This after about a gazillion years in a row of the Western Conference winning the head-to-head.

It’s very crazy in the sense that 41 games left is a lot more season than we think it is.

In our minds “hope is lost”.

In reality, “there’s tons of season left to improv”.

Pretty wild that no West team is above .500 on the road.

If a coach ever needs to get his team to take free throws seriously, he needs to point to tonight’s MIA-OKC game.

The Heat were short handed by injury, and struggling at all aspects of the game save free throws. They made an NBA record without a miss, 40-for-40, and needed every point in a 112-111 victory. If they shot 95%, they lose.

It’s time for coaches and players to compose themselves and not give up technicals as well.

The Suns have more losses right now than they have had all last season.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

We’re halfway through the season, and we are in a bundle of six teams, each one within a half game ahead or behind us.

The west is completely falling apart. This breaking very well for the Wolves if they can start to gain some momentum.

The west is so crazy right now. Clippers are GS are tied and right at .500. Phoenix, us, Portland are .5 game back, and Utah .5 game back of us. Lakers are just a .5 game back of them.

Only 5 games separate 4th from 13th. We have a legit shot to get a top 4 seed if we keep playing well, with Kat and Jmac coming back sooner than later.
