One thing I think is hilarious is that Mr. Clutch Kobe Bryant shot under 30% in clutch situations. I don't know what his EFG% was, but I'm guessing under 40.

Rudy came here to work with Ant earlier in the summer....

And that's with him still not getting a lot of calls or being an elite finisher.

Those stats from Kobe were last-second shots [or final 24 seconds]. These shots are "Last 5 minutes, game within 5 points". Vastly different.

Was Kobe supposed to be getting calls when he isolated and shot a 20-foot fadeaway?

Wally Szczerbiak hated being called for deliberately being within three feet of him.

Wally was an all-time bad defender. I have a hard time believing he wasn't actually fouling the uber-athletic, young 20's Kobe.

I’m joking about the phantom call that cost the KG-Wolves advancing in the playoffs in 2003.

Maybe too deep a reference, from an old guy.

That was ESPN official clutch shot definition whatever it is. IIRC LeBron is over 40% on those. Excuses for Kobe's poor clutch shooting is that he took all the tough shots. Maybe he shouldn't have.

I am too old to remember details like that and trying not to be bitter. We won that series right? :D

I honestly wouldn't rule out re-signing Vanderbilt next summer. Gut feeling.

I think Minott and Miller will cover what Vandy can do, and at less cost.

Clip of a story about Ant being honest about not wanting to throw lobs... why did they draft a guy whos major part of his game is to catch lobs? I'm glad that he could admit to that being his strength but now I see why he rarely did it in games.

We discussed this earlier but do want to bring up another point. Ant will deserve his supermax when he makes other players around him better. If he is going to be the alpha, figure out how to enable teammates. It's not about what piece we bring to make him better.

This year against DEN in 5 games Edwards had 10(!!!) blocks in first playoff round and 9(!!!) steals. Last year against MEM in 6 games he had 7 blocks and 7 steals.

I just wanted to recommend the July 11th podcast of Flagrant Howls, where Kyle Theige talked about play int blackjack with Ant in Vegas, the same day he signed his max deal. Hilarious!

It’s worth a listen, but one thing that stood out was that Ant treats his entourage with the same respect he treats his teammates, they recognized and enjoyed Kyle on this podcast, and they thought he is too rough on Karl-Anthony Towns.

This is not a podcast I’d normally recommend, and generally has emotional, uneducated takes, but this episode has some stories that give some insight into who Anthony Edwards is, and I though some of the people here would enjoy it.
