Re: 2024 Free Agency
The 4/5 rotation is probably set...I think they'll focus on adding one wing (who could provide fringe rotation minutes) and a reserve point guard.Even if it's unlikely that any of the three free agents return, they do all fit the type Connelly should be looking for.

Re: 2024 Free Agency
I think going after Saddiq Bey could be an interesting play for the future, if they could lock him in on a multi-year minimum. If they believe in one of the young guys to fill in this year, Saddiq could take his time in his year of recovery and come back to provide value in a year.

I don't see any reason he'd sign a multi-year minimum. Unless Year 2 is a player option.
I think its more likely that a team in a good financial situation signs him to a decent multi-year deal that "overpays" him to rehab this year.
If he's going to take a minimum, wouldn't it make more sense to do it in Atlanta so he'd have his Bird Rights going into next year?

Re: 2024 Free Agency
3.3M is the veteran minimum for him, right?
That would've been terrific for us.

Re: 2024 Free Agency
I know he's not what he once was, but I would welcome this as a 9th/10th man on a minimum deal....

Correct, that is the minimum for Delon Wright

Re: 2024 Free Agency
I'd probably take him too. He was good during the regular season, but unplayable against Playoff defenses. So, at the least, he should help keep our guys fresh during the season.

Re: 2024 Free Agency
One more piece of Joe Ingles propaganda, from last year.
Orlando was a lot like us last year, great defense and struggling offense. But while he's maybe taken a small step back, he can still infuse life into an offense when it needs help. He shot 43.5% on 3-pointers last year, his third in four years over 40%.

Major thing I want him for is his leadership and teaching the young guys. Would be a very valuable mentor, imo.

While he's not what he was when he finished second in 6MOY voting, his numbers last year are actually not far off from what he's done in most of his career.
FG%: .436 (6th out of 10 seasons)
3FG%: .435 (4th out of 10 seasons)
Assist rate: 8.6 per 100 possessions (2nd out of 10 seasons)
Turnover rate: 2.8 per 100 possessions (3rd out of 10 seasons)
These are the key numbers for him.

There’s more to the game than the above numbers. I had a great clip from TFS I wanted to link to asking “But can you block?” The issues with Ingles would be on defense, availability, hustle plays, ect… A healthy JI would be washed, this JI is not that. Hence the Ghost of Joe Ingles.

He would be a ninth man in a rotation on a team that can only sign minimum players at this point. I guess I'm not sure who you are expecting to sign for that price-point and role. I would also add that he is likely on the court with two of Rudy, Jaden, Ant, NAW at all times, so defense isn't necessarily as high a priority as helping the offense move.

Why did Dallas want Klay? He’s so washed, and for three years…GS was better when he didn’t play.

Last season didn’t work with Brown and Milton but I still prefer the wolves try young-ish cheap vets and hope one sticks. Maybe Dennis Smith Jr, Lonnie Walker and Jordan Nwora?

Who would I rather sign? Monte Morris for whatever it costs and depends who’s left. I admit Omer Yertseven is someone I am curious about.
