Minnesota really needs Memphis to beat Denver in one of those games.

On a positive note, Minnesota controls its destiny right now. Win both of those games, and they likely avoid the play-in.

My question is why? There are a number of reasons, seeding, matchup, trying to get a team eliminated in the play in, ect… I am just curious what yours is?

Also we control minimum of 6. But the right two losses happen (Denver, and LAC,) and we move to 4 and get OKC in round 2. As well as probably GSW in round 1.

To get 4th with HOU has no incentive to beat DEN. DEN lose to MEM and LAC lose GSW on Sunday. DEN, LAC, GSW, MEM, and MIN are all tie. I think MIN wins the tie breaker in this case?

To get 5th, DEN lose to MEM, GSW lose to LAC

If DEN wins, they will be one game ahead of MIN then realistically Wolves is 6th.

Any loss by Wolves than realistically Wolves will be 8th.

Last week, I thought “Surely after the MEM game, when every team has 80 games decided, there will be enough separation in the standings that I’ll be able to list every possible combination of results, and list every possible seed.”

It’s likely seeds #4-8 literally come down to the results of Game 82. That’s just nuts.

Well with the Lakers, they don't really have size or rim protection. Rudy and Ant should feast in a 7 game series

Oh, they will, but the Fakers will shoot 75 FT's a game, since you can't get within breathing space of Luka, LeBron and Austin.

That's likely my biggest goal of the weekend: avoid the Lakers. Even if we have to go into the play-in to do it, I personally would be OK with that.

He's not afraid of the Fakers, he's afraid of the refs in the Fakers series.

I added the Lakers over the past few weeks or so. I don't think it's a guaranteed loss, but it would likely cause some PTS after last year's conference finals plus adding in everything around the Lakers, LeBron, national media and the referees. I also think JJ Redick is a very good game-planning coach, and those are the ones who we tend to struggle against.

A game to pay close attention to is LAC @ SAC. The Kings clinch 9 with a win tonight and can rest their players for game 82. A loss by SAC and win by DAL and now game 82 is a must win for both teams (Kings have the tie breaker, but they can could still drop a game to the Suns.) Meanwhile Dallas ends the season against Memphis, which also has implications for us. Don’t be surprised to see the Clippers lose tonight.

I edited in the shift in odds since last night.

(Don’t tell Ant we’re 20.5 favorites)

Anyone know if we tie with DEN, GSW, and MEM. Do we with that tie breaker?

DEN wins and don't see them lose to HOU on Sunday. So Wolves are locked to 6th with small chance be 5th. Actually may as well stay at 6th.

Wrong....

Assuming the Nuggets win Sunday, we win Sunday and the LAC win tonight...

GSW vs LAC game settles everything. If the LAC win we get the 6 seed and face the Lakers.

If GSW win we get the 5 seed and face the Nuggets.

If we lose we are in the playi-in game.

If the Kings win tonight things will also change.

Further clarifying this...

If LAC win

Denver 50-32
LAC 50-32
Wolves 49-33
Memphis and GSW 48-32

If GSW win

Denver 50-32
Minnesota 49-33 (4-3 against LAC and GSW) 3-0 against LAC and 1-3 against GSW
GSW 49-33 (4-4 against LAC and Wolves) 3-1 against the Wolves 1-3 against LAC if they won
LAC 49-33 (3-4 against GSW and Wolves) 3-1 against GSW and 0-3 against the Wolves
Grizzlies worse.
