Is the NBA the only planet where rich owners can buy draft picks? Who the hell made that a thing anyways?

Draft picks yes. But baseball teams have been trading guys for bags of balls, spare tires and drinking money for over a century.

Remind me how many rounds of picks baseball has? Also how many minor leagues they have for those picks,

The Lakers GM got approval from the Owner to spend their cash to get a player they hope will make a difference for the team.

Our organization? Straight cash, homie.

Never gonna get excited about a **** second round pick again, if they treat the 31 this way, just trade them all at this point!!!

Just ask the Red Sox circa 1915.

Or Zikarsky?

Proctor is who I'd like. Could just draft Nembhard but hoping he'll be able to be signed after the draft.

Last I checked (and it's been awhile) there were around 50 rounds and six minor league affiliates. I'm not saying it's the same, I'm just saying it happens in other sports.

How frustrating must it be to be a scout our executive where your entire job is spending all year gathering information on which players to draft and going through every possible scenario fighting with 29 other teams to get the players you like.

And when the time comes to take that player, your owner is like, nope, rather have that sweet cash homie.

Traded pick 45 to the Chicago Bulls if I'm reading this right.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
