I don't know if anyone actually listened to the Rubio press conference but I'll post it again and this time try to peak some interest with some quotes.

http://www.nba.com/media/timberwolves/R ... 090625.MP3

-Ricky if you do come(this year), what do you think about playing with Johnny Flynn?
Rubio: "When I become to be a professional player I started to play with another point guard too and that makes it easier to play and I feel comfortable with two point guards you know."

-Does it matter that you went to Minnesota versus some place warmer?
Rubio: "Oh no, not for me, that's only for my mom because she doesn't like the cool weather but for me, I don't care if it's warm or not. I want to play minutes. That's what I'm saying to my agent, I want the team to let me play and give me minutes."

-Would you like a coach who's played PG in the NBA before?
Rubio: "Ya..absolutely"

Holly Roller wrote:I posted this in the Blazers forum so i just copied and pasted. Tell me what you think.

1. Does Rubio want to play in Portland? Hope he does, i live in Seattle and would love to watch him, especially if he can burn OKC.

2. Do you think Portland is giving up to much in this scenario, the numbers match so it works.

Portland gets: Rubio, Brewer, Madsen and Smith. Madsen is EXP and you land your PG plus 2 solid players off the bench.

Minnesota gets: Outlaw, Bayless, Fernandez and Cunningham. Outlaw is EXP, Minnesota gets the SG they need plus more help in a depleted backcourt and possibly their starting SF of the future.

Good to read that. Even if Rubio's camp was/is having doubts, I'm sure we could send Flynn over to Spain to try and convince them otherwise, since he seems like the most persuasive man in the world.

This will all be settled when The Big Twitter talks to Rubio. According to his Twitter he's trying to get in touch with him and flynn.

"How do I say, Ricky please come to Minnesota, play PG for us PLEASE? AND has anyone ever told you that you sound like the lucky charms guy?"

"I need to get in touch with j Flynn, please everyone relay that message"

I never thought I'd enjoy Twitter, but Big Tweet and Conan O'Brien's Twitter Tracker have changed my mind.

This is a radio interview from a couple of hours ago: http://www.cadenaser.com/deportes/audio ... dep_1/Aes/

Q: There are so many rumors that I don't know if it's possible to get something straight at this point.

Rubio: Yes, I think every minute I'm in a different place. It's a bit like the stocking market, that you don't know where you are and you go up and down. But we'll see. Everything will be sorted out and we'll see the team that holds my rights here (in the NBA), which is Minnesota for the moment.

Q: You still haven't decided whether you stay in the ACB or you go to the NBA, right? That's the first thing to be decided, I guess.

Rubio: Yes, that's the first thing to decide, but it will also depend on which team holds my rights, but for the moment I think I would go back (to the ACB).

Can you validate that? Seems different than other things we have heard from Ricky.

I can validate Luis, he has no reason to make this up. He evaluates prospects in Spain.

the translation is correct. Well, when he says it would depend on the team who has his rights..and says, at the moment is Minnesota... and then again, at the moment I plan to VOLVER(go back).. it is the final proof he wants to get traded or goes back in Spain.

How do you want me to validate that?. You have the link.

Anybody else speaks Spanish here? That KWSN-Men guy has repeatedly said that he's from the Basque country (which is Spain). He should be able to validate it for you (although I don't believe a word; I think he's a Greek-American, or something like that).

Anyway, it's not that much different. As much as you guys want to think that he's not refusing to go to Minnesota, fact is he's not saying things clear and straight. You guys want to believe he will be in Minnesota next season, which is logic, but you have to read between the lines.

Well, you don't need to read between the lines in this one. He says things pretty straight.

Well, Im italian.. I had some problems with following the interviewer who spoke too quick, but I understood Rubio.. It is pretty clear what he says. At the moment, with his rights to Minny he plans to go back in SPain. But it depends.. man.. maybe my dream to see him in NY will be true
BUt who knows, maybe Kahn convinces him

I'm from Spain and I can confirm what is said in the post above about that radio interview translation. In resume he said that there are more chances of him coming back to Spain than to stay in the NBA, but it will depend on the team that ends owning his rights.

He says also that he still needs to talk to Kahn and the Wolves and see what they want to do.. so maybe there is a chance they can convince him with good talking, especially giving the fact that Rubio appears a bit uncertain.

Apparently he also visited NY, and they asked him if it is nice place to leave?? ahah.. speculating a little bit in Spain as well

Yes, and he answered (half joking) that it was too noisy and crowded, that he prefers more clam places, but that he will get used to whatever city he ends going.

I don't think the city itself has anything to do with his decision, it's more about going to a franchise with good potential and that will also give him the most minutes.
