Re: Official Anthony Edwards Thread
This may or may not have been posted elsewhere but great interview of Ant with Marney. Ant by the way is what he wants to be called. Not Anthony or Antman.

It is starting and it is only a matter of a time before Ant has espn’s attention and even more followers than Lamelo. Lamelo’s personality is boring and he won’t live up to his hype.

Irrational confidence, you love to see it.
Honestly, and some wont like this, he gives me Jimmy Butler vibes. I don't know if he has Butlers obsession levels but he has that weird, slightly off vibe about him combined with really high confidence. If he has Jimmy's work ethic, watch out.

Yes, I also saw Butler in that! He’s competitive with everything. Great to see.

Re: Official Anthony Edwards Thread
So happy to have this kid on the team..he is NOTHING like I thought he'd be before the draft. Thought he'd be a mindless chucker that was lazy..
He's aggressive, makes quick decisions and is smooth as hell! His personality, confidence and energy is also a breath of fresh air, so happy we got a good one in a draft considered to be one of the weakest in a long time

I'm waiting for just a bit larger sample size of Edwards playing amazingly to post a collection of quotes of Edwards doubters pre- and post-draft. Some crow is due to be eaten.

I'm very excited for him but I got to stay grounded, Wiggins also looked pretty good for most of his rookie season. I still think Edwards looks more polished but it's early. Need to dig into the advanced stats soon and see how the two stack up. Wiggins always had weird/bad metrics despite his high production in the early days.

It feels like he is not getting that many minutes and the coaching staff is starting him off slowly yet he still averages 16.5 PPG. We havn’t even gotten monster dunks yet but I am still so hyped and if he improves the same way Jarrett has ... wow.

Dudes 19 and has that “touch” most high end prospects have. Like a quick put back or shot around the rim. They’re going in because it’s natural. We were just content with Wiggins driving to the rim, he didn’t necessarily have to make the shot. And that’s with Wiggins at 24 yrs old. Also ant has one of the prettiest shots I’ve seen. None of that a slingshot wrist crap Wiggins has.

I get it, I feel better about Edwards early on too but Wiggins looked flat out spectacular many times as a rookie. I felt similar to how I feel now because he showed a lot of promise. I'm going to be more cautious with Edwards but he does look really really good.

I don’t remember Wiggins being impressive as a rookie, and I thought he was terrible in the first month. After that he had his moments, sort of like the rest of his career.

Re: Official Anthony Edwards Thread
Again, Wiggins was untouchable until the 3rd year of his carrer and that wasn't because he was the number one overrall pick and hyped at time as the next Lebron James or something like that. Look at Fultz, Dlo or Okafor... If you dont show up in the first year you are already being called as a bust... That wasn't the case with Wiggins.
Who doesnt remember people saying that Wiggins had the best first step move after a guy called Michael Jordan?

Not only that, his main problem was always his will to succeed, and I don't see that in Ant at all. I don't think they are similar, Ant is stronger mentally and physically.
I always saw Wiggins as a milk-toast player.

Pretty much untouchable for the majority of this fan base until 2017 (Thats 3 seasons)
For a reason...
Let's pump the brakes on how Edwards is already showing better things than Wiggins after 2 RS games.
We cant even compare the roles, the hype, the spotlight etc etc etc.
All of this is good for Edwards btw...

Love this kid. Hoping MIN finally gets some good news that lasts as he grows. Glad to see KAT return yesterday- was sort of stunned actually, that fall looked intense. Nightmare 3 guard lineup if you can keep guys passing (looking at you, DLol). Love the potential here. Edwards is excellent.
