Canada can have him back when he's 38 and wants to end his career back home.

About the Raptors Fans talking about Wiggins its nothing compared with the same Raptors fans in the begining of the season when they were the best team league in the league.

They really tought they were win the East easly. Special after the win in Cleveland.

I remember when KG was going to Chicago every single summer. Rubio was going to demand a trade to NY. Love was apparently only going to demand a trade to the Lakers for 4 straight years.

Have to build a winning team around him. Simple as that. Like all athletes, he wants to win. Gotta' be a great team when he hits his athletic prime. Wiggins, Lavine, Bazz, Rubio, Bennett, Dieng is good start.

Yea... 4 years of his rookie contract, then 5 years of his max level contract... then if we cant put decent talent around him and toronto still playing at this level maybe and only maybe it will happen. So in 2023 is the year for the raptors, just keep winning guys

yep, put a good roster around him and he will be here as long as we want him to be. It's very important that we hit on our pick this year

To get this back on track about Wiggins in Minnesota:

What do you guys think his position will be in two years? I think he should be a SF his career but had an argument at work about this with another NBA fan. He thinks Wiggins is a shooting guard and playing at the three would be a waste of talent plus putting more pounding on his frame.

I thought he was a 3 for sure but he's been playing much better at the two sure far. Eventually he will be more of a 3 but it probably depends on how quickly he puts on muscle. Defensively, he can guard either position right now.

Agreed 100%. At the two, he will always have a size advantage at his disposal in the post.

So you guys agree with my work buddy that Wiggins should be a 2? I just think he'd be such a defensive nightmare as a 3

It doesn't really matter. He has different strengths with each position and should be able to play either position really well.

I tend to agree. I love the idea of him as a 2 right now do to scarcity of the position around the league, but I think long term it depends on who his compliment on the wing is as far as what he winds up being.

This. His position is less dependent on him than it is on the rest of the roster, imo. If the 2nd best wing on the roster is better at the 3, then Wiggins is a 2 and vice versa.

Edit:

With that said, I think that as long as he keeps his quickness and can defend the 2 spot, then he's a bigger mismatch at the 2. The NBA is full of 6'3" - 6'5" SGs at the moment, and those guys simply aren't tall enough to contest Wiggins' shot.

Put him at the 3, lavine can man the 2. I still got faith in lavine being a star in this league

Why? The best player of all-time was a do it all athlete at the SG position.

The responsibilities and opportunities for the wing positions are basically the exact same on both sides of the ball. It's not like one routinely plays closer to the basket or gets more post up opportunities, etc. Does it really matter which position he plays?
