Kanter did this a few years ago. He did come back fine, just unfortunate. Jaden at least has the excuse of being young. Boozer also did it once.

So he is done for the season?

I can't believe it..
"...I want to compliment him, we all expected that he would take up the game, we have prepared the plan race on him, we have doubled. And, as usual, he did what he wanted..."

Being 22 is not an excuse to punch a wall as a multi-million dollar athlete. This was incredibly stupid and unfortunate.

Yeah, 22 year olds should know better than to go around punching walls. A 15 year old should know that too. One of the absolute dumbest ways to injure yourself.

I really, really hope he did not permanently **** up his hand. He really laid into that concrete wall.

Why the **** is that area covered in black? So stupid. Yes, let’s conceal the concrete.

And why isn’t a trainer with anybody who leaves the bench?

Dumb. I blame the coaches, the franchise and I blame McDaniels.

Ugly all around.

I have a hard time saying this isn't entirely on McDaniels. I mean you shouldn't need a trainer around to prevent a player from punching walls, that's silly.

People need to stop saying "it's unfortunate". Fortune has nothing to do with it.
This guy was labeled as emotional/runs hot and cold coming out of the draft. Well we just saw it to the fullest. 100% Jaden's fault and he cost himself more than anything. Wolves weren't going anywhere this postseason but Jaden just cost himself an incredible opportunity.
Worst franchise of all time.

This is correct. This has been Jadens MO since Washington and is 100% on him. Not the team, coaches, etc. I hate this happened, but unlike Gobert, McDaniels is a huge asset/positive going forward and is one of the most important archetypes of players in the modern NBA. And his problems was he was upset with himself, not a teammate. What he did was somewhat forgivable. Bad and will cost us the next week or two but longterm forgivable.

Jaden could probably use a better way to release his emotions.

The T for slamming the basketball last week wasn't good either.

Honestly, this is the interesting thing to me. How will this affect his extension talks. Gotta think it won't help him. Might end up being something that helps the franchise longterm.

Good then, other teams might back off too. His next contract will help the team and if he becomes the superstar we hope he is destined for, his third contract will really pay him well.

Sometimes I think you and I see the world through the same set of eyes, Klomp! Of course I was disappointed when I heard the news for the playoffs, but my mind immediately went to that contract extension. I want him on the Wolves a long time.

To be honest, the McDaniels extension has worried me far more than Ant. It’s a foregone conclusion we’ll offer Ant the max. Jaden though is the fourth Wolf looking for a big contract, and it’s hard for any ownership group to shell out big bucks with three maxes on the books.

Also, Jaden’s value has risen tremendously this year. Nine months ago after the Gobert trade, I was mocked on the Trade Board for saying the Wolves front office loves Jaden so much, that they might have been willing to add a couple future picks rather than give him to Ainge. This year, we have seen his offensive game blossom. He played 79 games. His FG% rose from 46% to 51.7%. He shot 40% 3P%, up from 31.7% last year. He suddenly has a handle, moves around the basket, and he may make an All Defense team this year. If we don’t lock him up this summer, and he makes a similar leap in Year 4, there could be owners out there that want to give him money close to the baby max. If we get him for $20 a year, I think that’ll look like a bargain.

Maybe Connelly can leverage the injury into a more team-friendly contract? “You know Jaden, we really like you, but you really let us down before the playoffs. We still believe in you, and want you here longterm to erase this most recent event from everyone’s memory. Would you take $20 a year right now?”
