That Pittsburgh loss makes the Gophers look even better in the voters eyes.

did anyone catch Louisville beat Pitt. Terrance Williams looked real nice. I believe he's starting to put it all together.

Yep, he really put a licking on those Pepperdine Waves.
Evan Turner had a nice night, he led his team to a win on the road against #24 Michigan. Turner didn't shoot all that well (4-12) and he turned the ball over too much, but he led that team to victory by creating offense for himself and his teammates (6 assists).

Re: College players thread/ Draft Related thread
so we will either draft 6-10 or the miami pick likely.
or the nba could cheat in our favor and give us the first pick. ala chicago or clev or orlando or ny etc etc...then we trade it for deron williams

I was watching the Lousiville Vs Pitt game. Terrance Williams looks like a very good shooter, he is strong and he can rebound very well too. Sam Young is amazing though. He has one of the best shot fakes I have ever seen. He's a really smart guy and can shoot and explode to the rim. Watch Sports center and you can see his amazing windmill dunk. I would love to draft both of these guys. Earl Clark looks kinda Rudy Gay like, in that he doesn't really look like he is trying all that hard. He has some pretty sick tools though.

Give me jeff teague and cole Aldrich and we'll call it a draft.
Use whatever it takes to secure them, 2nd rounders, late 1st to move up.
Teague and foye ....whoa!
Aldrich as a true center, who can defend, get bocks and chip in pts

More importantly, I think it will help the Gopher's RPI.

Jeff Teague looks really intriguing. He shoots 52% from three point land, gets to the line 8 times a game, gets more than 2 steals a game, and he's incredibly athletic. The only problem is his high number of turnovers for a point guard.

I'm feeling more confident that the Wolves are going to play themselves out of a first round pick this year. Oh well, I'd rather the team win anyway.
I'm going to start focusing on the mid and late picks and not so much on Harden/Holiday, etc.

I hope not. If the Wolves are going to miss their pick, I'd like to see it during a year where they can at least contend for the playoffs. Also, I think losing the pick stalls the momentum of the rebuilding a little bit.
Anyway, the Wolves realistically aren't going to win more than 35 games which would put them right around the 10 spot. Last year, New Jersey had the 10th pick with 34 wins.

Re: College players thread/ Draft Related thread
I hope if we lose the pick, I hope it's because the pick was blown out of the lottery. If we lose a #12 pick or something for example, that'll be disappointing. I like the win streak, but I hate that literally all of our draft picks are hitting worst case scenario status. Wolves pick is gonna suck because of our new-found competency, Miami's pick is getting hurt by Wade's obnoxiously dominating season, Utah will be handing over a pick well into the 20s, and Boston enjoys teasing us, but that pick won't be any better than 28.
Nonetheless, I wouldn't give away any picks. When they say this draft is going to be weak, it depends on how you define a weak draft. I think it'll be weak in that there won't be Lebrons or Odens in it, but once draft time comes around, a lot of guys are going to see that there aren't many locks in this draft and that it's going to be a good draft to declare for from a draft position standpoint and that should really boost the depth and could really help the Wolves out. Premature still, but in the end I think it will stack up well with last year's draft, and probably exceed it as far as quality depth in that post lotto/early 2nd round area.

Chad Ford has us taking Jrue Holiday or Jeff Teague in the 7-8 range. Teague has really climbed up a lot of mocks, Curry and Jennings are starting to fall.
I can't wait for March Madness yo.
BTW, how come Earl Clark gets no love? He seems like he's got a lot of skills we could use. I see his ceiling as pretty high too (Marvin Williams?).

Re: College players thread/ Draft Related thread
I ran Chad Ford's mock about 20 times and we got Teague 18 times (all in the 7-8 range), we got Curry once at 9, and Rubio once at 2 (WOOT).
I think this draft still has potnetial to produce some studs, it just seems like everyone is young and raw. Looking at all the mocks, players are all over the place. I think we will end up with some young prospects, hopefully the FO will be able to judge the talent better this time.

My main issue with Clark is that he's not much of an outside shooter, and I think that's important if your best player is Al Jefferson.
Holiday sounds like a great fit and I'm in love Teague's numbers right now. I'd be happy with either.

I'm optimistic, but im not that optimistic, right now we are around the 7th pick I believe, and I don't believe we'll get past the pacers, raptors, or bobcats. The Wolves schedule is about to get a little tougher over the next couple weeks with games against The Hornets, Celtics, Lakers, Rockets, Hawks, and Utah, with a couple other weaker teams that we beat that will probably want payback. I think we will hover around this draft spot for the rest of the year. Of course I wouldn't mind a higher pick, but these past month of Wolves basketball has been great.
Jennings, Holiday, Teague, Thabeet, Mullens, Derozan, and Aminu are all guys i like with our 85 1sr round picks
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
