I think Klomp and others were talking about this last week. Malik is tough to trade - one of the few bright spots of this miserable season. It also leaves us with similar financial issues next year, but it does improve our starters and clears out some of our roster clutter.

Would people bite the bullet and endorse this one?

Easy pass, not giving up Beasley, we finally have a shooter.

Any chance we could include either Culver or Okoge for Bamba?

Russell, JMac
Edwards, Fournier
Mcdaniels, Culver/Okoge
Gordon, Vanderbilt
Towns, Bamba, Reid

Why would we want bust looking Bamba though?

It would be a bust for bust trade getting back a bust with legit size and potential to play defense behind KAT. But ya, bust for bust...

If wolves will be trying to win better to get a vet min defensive center that can actually play instead of Bamba then use Culver/Okogie/Bolmaro etc for help elsewhere.

We can't afford to give up Beasley. Maybe if/when Edwards develops but as it stands Malik is the only efficient scorer we have outside of Towns.

As much as I like the idea of going after Gordon it's not worth it if it costs Beasley.

Oh I would much rather stash Beasley and use him as trade bait later.

CHI GETS: Rubio

Why for CHI? Bulls fans say they are looking for a facilitator starting PG, since Coby White is just more of a scorer. Rubio is certainly that, and he comes in on Day One with experience knowing where LaVine likes to receive passes. As a bonus, if he can help Zach make a leap, like Donovan Mitchell and Devin Booker did when Rubio got there.

Why for MIN? Rubio is on the verge of being a bad contract, but this deal helps them escape with just a minor ding. The bulk of the return comes from the financial savings:

Rubio: $17.0, $17.8

T. Sato: $10.0. $10.0 ($5 guaranteed)
Felicio: $7.5

The deal is basically salary neutral this year, but next year, with the team over the lux, it cuts $12.8 mil off our payroll once we waive Sato. We’re still spending $5, so I have no trouble asking for the 2nd. I imagine Rosas really wants to get back into the 2021 draft, and put his scouts to work.

I think it’s a disappointing return, but realistic. Hopefully, some other team emerges to outbid this, but at this point, I think Rosas might accept this.

I have a feeling this is what we should expect. I think plan was to flip Rubio as part of bigger deal if some of our assets like Culver, Juancho, etc had planned out. But think now the cap and contract is going to force a deal that's acceptable for financials.

Tempted to. Figure someone like Davis included since we don't want to take on that much more salary. Selling low on Beasley but does balance roster. I think a starting lineup if DLo, Ant, McDaniels, Gordon, and KAT could raise the D to at least acceptable level and still be good offensively.

Hello guys. Philly fan here.
What do you think of Juan Hernangómez? Why is he out of rotation?

Would you trade him for our TPE? Or do you want to pay him next season as well?

The thing with Juancho is that he was never good.

Look at his mediocre numbers in Denver...
Last season surprise surprise.
Contract year, bad team...

I wonder what kind of shape Hernangomez is in? I can't imagine they wouldn't play him a little just to showcase him. Pray that he gets hot for five games and hits 40 percent of his 3s.

I hope you two aren't in the negotiation room. If you're trying to trade someone to get something of value in return, don't constantly talk about how horrible he is.

Rosas need to make a Huancho, Beasley Okogie and Culver for Gordon, Fournier, and Bamba trade happen. We won't miss anything on the scoring dept cuz Fournier is efficient like Beasley and we'll gain more defense with Gordon and Bamba. However everybody gets to play their natural positions. Dlo/Edwards/Fournier/Gordon/Towns.

On the other hand Raptors interested in Rubio.

Who do we want from the Raptors? Let's say Tor ask for Edwards+Rubio for Siakam, do we pull the trigger?

I am not trading Beasley for Gordon, not really interested in the ORL deal altogether.

But as the Rubio rumor goes it might fit into a three-team deal with Lowery going elsewhere and someone from a third team coming here. A lot of times this is how these rumors come about it is not always direct intrest from both teams and requires a third-party.

If I recall the Clippers have been rumored as interested in both Lowery and Rubio, that might be a hint...

Scariolo (Raptors' assistant, temporarily head coach because of covid) is the spanish national team coach. Spain with Scariolo won the Wold Championship and Rubio was named Tournament MVP. Serious connection there.

Good to know. I wonder if Minnesota could get into a Lowry trade.

Minnesota out: Rubio
Minnesota in: Bradley, Danny Green (buy him out)

Philly out: Green, Maxey, Bradley, Scott
Philly in: Lowry

Toronto out: Lowry
Toronto in: Rubio, Maxey, Scott

Philly may have to send the Raptors a pick or two, but as a Wolves fan I don't care about that.
Minnesota clears enough 2021-22 cap space to sign Cunningham/Suggs/Kuminga and bring back Vando.

I don't see the great appeal of that deal. You have the offseason up to next years deadline to get us under the LUX. I don't think the cap savings is what we would be looking for right here and now while also having to eat Bradley for another year. I think MN would be looking for cap savings and a modest asset, so depending on that asset, does a 2nd get it done in that deal? IDK. Otherwise I think they would want a straight expiring. I don't think they want to waste roster spots on the likes of players like Bradley. Is a 2nd enough to get a team to eat Bradley's $5 mil next year? I guess it comes down to that if they can't find some low salary reclamation project opposed to a player like Bradley.
