there is very little money available, the few teams that do will spend it on far better players than Coby White (Myles Turner, Paul George, etc) or will use it to bail out the good teams that are working around the aprons
a player of White's caliber hasn't changed teams for more than MLE money in like five years, and the league-wide money situation is only going to get worse
He played really well the 2nd half of the season. Approaching his prime, lost a year from injury, role wasn't quite defined early on. He is worth a moderately risky contract, and will get paid.
