I think Murray is underrated. Watch his video, it screams NBA player. But where I think he takes knocks, is he is not a PG/SG in mold of Westbrook or for that matter LaVine. He won't over athletic you, he won't slash to the rim in a way that wows the average NBA fan, he won't create his own offense in a box. McCollum is an NBA player I compare him to. Not in cookie cutter parallels but in concept.

If Wolves select him, him or LaVine as a 6th man would kill opposing rosters. Problem I have with that idea is Wolves are not a team that should be drafting 5th overall for bench.

My list:
1. Ingram
2. Murray
3. Hield
4. Simmons (hate his fit, pure trade bait for me)
5. Davis (in perfect world he would be sophomore, being drafted after being the man with Izzo. But instead he is a huge risk of a small sample size player who happens to fill perfectly Wolves need).
6. Bender (he may fit Wolves need on paper, but I strongly fear the Porzingis affect in his value).

Well then, we better trade the pick because there are only maybe two players in this draft who would start on the team next year.

The Wolves biggest needs are for Lavine and Wiggins to learn to play defense, and for the bench to be improved dramatically.

If Thibs can contribute to the first point and the draft pick to the second then the Wolves will have had a tremendous off season.

As long as the draft pick isn't limited to one position only there are starter level minutes to anyone who can slide between positions succesfully

I doubt Murray or Hield workout for the Wolves after their agents talk to them and give them a fair notice about LaVine. With Pelicans and Nuggets needing a shooting guard those will likely be their destinations. Boston seems interested in trading the 3rd pick, but if people aren't interested in Dragan why would they be in Jamal 3rd overall? Boston is looking for a star forward I'm assuming, because I don't see someone giving up a star guard for Murray. I see Murray being a star player, but not the highest one.
The Kings make a whole lot of sense, but Vlade doesn't want to trade him.
Philly could get the 1st and 4th and select Ingram and Murray. Maybe the Nba wants them outta the Lottery as soon as possible.

If I were Murray or Hield I'd preffer not be selected by PHI, DEN, LAL etc, but MIN.

Yeah that is the likely outcome. More so if one subscribes to the Thibs doesn't like playing rookies opinion. It would be an interesting few months, if Wolves land 1 or 2 tomorrow, daily debate trade or who do they draft with the pick. Wolves organization would be talk of the association.

Of course trading the pick talk starts up the thread do Wolves need a stretch PF or a defensive-rebounding PF debate.

Looking at Chad Ford's mocks, our big board seems to be

Ben Simmons
Brandon Ingram
Dragan Bender
Jamal Murray
Buddy Hield

My top6 as of now, covering the most likely picks is,

Ingram
Simmons
Bender
Dunn
Baldwin
Luwawu

So if you dont want to go the PG route and you dont jump in the top3, Luwawu if available would be my selection hands down.

If we get #1 do we take Simmons? And then try to move Rubio and Baz to get back into the high picks and hopefully snag Murray?

Nah Simmons is going to bust. He's too into himself and only himself.

so georges niang projected to go undrafted by both major draft sites. Hope that's true and the wolves sign him. I know he's got a dad bod, but the dude seems to produce at a high level with every opportunity he's given.

I know I'd take Ingram over him. I won't go so far as to assume he'll bust, but I feel a lot better about Ingram's game, measurements, and mentality.

that's a pretty good 5; I like Murray, but I've been conflicted on him lately. Dunn seems really good, but not sure how we justify him w/ our roster makeup. Really forces our hand to make a move w/ Jones and rubio on board.

How do you see Wiggy and Ingram fitting if we dont take Simmons? The both play the 3. Unless we move Wiggy to the 2 and Zac to the bench?
