Still wish we traded Wiggins instead of Zach. Smoothest player in the league.

We wouldn't be as good today with Zach as we are with Wiggins.

I also think I understand why Thibs chose Zach. It's about overall upside. Zach might have a little more offensive upside due to 3-point shooting, but Wiggins' defensive upside is more significant, especially on a Thibs team.

It's a personal preference. I'm just a huge fan of LaVine. But I'm of course more than happy with the current season

The primary reason I think thibs held onto wiggs was for defense. Lavine would space us out better on offense, but we are already top 5. Defensively, we'd be in a whole lot of trouble with Lavine switching on pgs to pfs.

Wiggs has been able to switch between 1-4.
Thibs likes to lock Butler on best player, but wiggs also gets some time there to give a different look.
Butler gets the best (pg, sg, or sf) , but wiggs still gets the second best, while Teague gets hidden.
Wiggs taking the bigger and stronger wing, also keeps Butler healthier because there isn't as much physical play.

Those are things that Lavine just can't do in thibs' ice defense.

This move was better for the future of Lavine and better for this franchise because of Jimmy.

I'd probably keep Wiggins over LaVine myself, but I'm more unsure if I have to choose between Wiggins or LaVine AND Dunn. This was before Wiggins extension, when his value was probably higher than LaVine's.

It speaks to Thibs' ability to draft, which will benefit us in the future. The fact that he wanted Butler in the draft and also reportedly really wanted to pick Draymond Green back in Chicago are also further indications that the OKC 1st has a good chance of turning into a decent player.

I loved seeing LaVine playing as well. I think the trade was mutually beneficial. I'm miss LaVine and Dunn, but I'm so glad we have Jimmy Butler as well.

Not sure how Markkanen speaks to Thibs' drafting ability as he was selected for the Bulls at our pick.

Reports were that he would've been the pick without the trade

Bulls will have 3+ defenders starting with Lavine : Lopez, holiday, and Dunn.

Booker has an over the hill chandler and nothing else.

The suns and the bulls will be out of the playoffs until 2023 at a minimum.

Offensive schema, no defense, obsolete coaching style etc. But for good or bad, Thibs is too stubborn to take care about others opinions or trends. We are winning in the very unique way, we finally have a developing identity.

seeing as how we wont be winning any Championships for the next 2 years for sure. How do you think this team will look after that?
Jamal will be 37, Taj will be gone and Jeff might leave for a long term contract. or would you rather have a young Bulls team with this years draft pick?

As soon as he decided to calls Bulls fans the best in the world he lost me as one. So he can kiss my arse.

Can't really make a judgement till we see Patton Play

If anything we should have kept Dunn.

I think a big factor in Thibs choosing Wiggins over LaVine was the ACL injury. Hard to say what LaVine would look like. Yesterday's small sample size says he looks just like he did before the injury, but only time will tell- and Thibs didn't have a crystal ball.

Zach LaVine will put up massive numbers, but ultimately it is what it is. I just wonder at time whether we could have gotten away with Kris Dunn and Wiggins and just kept Lauri Markkanan along with LaVine, but ultimately I don't really care given that Jimmy is obviously worth it.

Since the Packers won't be winning any Super Bowls in the next 2 years, might as well release Rodgers and go with the younger Brett Hundley.

Keeping Lavine, Markkanen and Dunn (+KAT, Wiggins, Tyus) would be a lot of young guys to developing at same time.
Plus, probably another 2 years of losing. Was time to make some moves to win and Thibs nailed it by bringing Jimmy.

It was the exact right trade at the exact right time- for both teams.

What’s even more important then the current winning is that Wiggins and Kats learning is being accelerated.

There are talented young players older then Wiggins and Kat who still haven’t figured out the winning bit like damarcus cousins. Being able to get these two to understand what it takes at this juncture of their career is invaluable.
