Thank you my friend! Didn’t it use to be colored font? Or is that a hazy memory sponsored by 3rd Street Liquor conveniently located in downtown Winona, MN?
Green font is now considered cultural appropriation of Irish heritage sorry friend.

Would love to see Rocco Zikarsky in Summer League to determine if he’s ready for a two-way. I kind of doubt it, but worth doing!
Two way?
Jesse Edwards level players get 2 ways!
Give him a HInkie and goodbye Garza and Minott.
Only question is this year or next.
In fact if he takes the absolute rookie min the 1st year it would save us a cool mil vs the luxury tax versus a vet min.
Would be awesome if Rocco becomes a cult hero like Naz Reid and makes everyone forget about the other Rocco in town.

Re: Draft Day: Round 2
I like that he showed pretty quick reaction time and solid hands on offensive rebounds. If you're 7'4", the offensive glass has gotta be your home, and it seems like he might have that. As with all giant human folk, it'll come down to whether his body can hold up to the schedule, and also training to put on some muscles. If he can make it through that - big if for the giant folk - then it's a nice piece. Idk, a super tall center just hits harder than some random small foward prospect, no? I'll never turn down a look at a 7'4" guy in the 2nd round.

He’s pretty far behind even players like Jesse Edwards when it comes to on-the-court impact, it’s just that he (hopefully) has significantly more upside.
Honestly, the team would benefit from getting him on a two-way, rather than wasting his cheap rookie-deal years on a season where he has no chance in hell of getting NBA minutes. Only real restriction is that he wouldn’t be able to play in the Playoffs, which would (God willing) never happen this season.
Nobody is behind Jesse Edwards in on-court impact!
I think the Jaylen Clarke two way was a bit of an aberration in that he was going to miss the whole season to injury and he was picked at 51.
The better path is to let Rocco keep developing in Australia for a year or two.
The danger there is that he gets a big buck offer in Europe and all of a sudden you are no longer able to bring him over for your Hinkie special.
The Hinkie special (2nd round pick exception, rookie min 2yr+2 team options) could actually save us a mil against the tax this year.
And having a huge shotblocker with a 9'6.5 reach as your 3rd big is not the worst thing in the world either.
I think a 2 way is the worst option and I wouldn't leave him overseas for more than one year.
But thats just me.

Chris Finch loves Luka Garza. So much so that he would rather let Garza sabotage a game (happened multiple times,) then risk letting Leonard Miller try and play in competitive minutes. I don’t see Finch letting TC dump Garza for RZ. I personally think Garza is more mascot than player and a waste of a roster spot, but that is where we are. As for the Hinkie, cannot we keep RZ for two years as a two way, then Hinkie him for another 4?

Respectfully disagree, there is a tremendous amount of value in getting a player integrated into your system and development staff. The two-way exists exactly for situations where a player is extremely raw, but you want to play a direct role in their development.

I don't think so. I think the 2 way years count against a players restricted free agency, which you can only get up to year 4 I think.

Has there ever been a productive, marginal Aussie player EVER in the history of the NBA?
I'm kind of thinking our young Rocco isn't going to be the first.
Horrible night.

So what guards out there who are going to go undrafted that are worth a 2 way contract?
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
