KG Tonight

Post#381 » by LaettnerStrikes » Sat Jan 26, 2008 4:42 am

My love for KG has never wavered. I was extremely happy for both the Wolves and KG when the trade went down. I have always blamed McHale and Taylor for this mess. KG made the Wolves the team they became and for that he will always be one of the great MN athletes....but his actions before, during and after the game left me annoyed and maybe even pissed at KG. His flamboyance at the end of the game felt like a punch in the gut. It is really unexplainable. I have had Feb. 8th tickets for 3 to 4 months now and tonight I am almost regretting the purchase of those tickets....

I'm seriously tempted to drive 4 hours back to the Cities and buy scalped tickets on the 8th. It's 50/50 right now.

On the game winning tip-in, he clearly shoved Al under the basket, rendering Al useless as far as position for the rebound. That was a no call after Al's no call on the other end only 30-45 seconds earlier.

From what I see, you guys are making a big deal out of nothing. We didn't have a big deal when Davis and Blount celebrated like they did last year after we beat the Celtics. Why? Because it wasn't happening to us. How many of you said at the time that it was classless? Probably not a single one of you.

Sounds like it was a great game. I wish I would've stuck around.

Good, I'm not the only one that saw that.

I think its safe to say we expected more out of KG than we did out of Blount and Davis.

Klomp44, I appreciate your take and in every other instance I would agree. The last thing I was looking for tonight was to take KG down from the pedestal I have always held him at and yet for some reason I just felt disrespected.

Would you like to elaborate on that? I'm still struggling to see why so many people are upset. I didn't see him do anything that was different than your typical celebration.

maybe it was the fact that he held the Celtics jersey out for about a minute and celebrated like he was Bryce Drew after beating the worst team in the league by 1 point. So much for his comments on this being just another game...

It seemed like he took quite a bit of pleasure in sticking it to the Wolves. From the taunting and yelling at the players after the game, to him holding up the "Celtics" on his jersey as he walked off the floor. It was as if he was emphasizing how happy he is to be in Boston and dissing MN. To be honest I dont know if I ever remember him walking off the floor in MN proudly holding up his "Timberwolves" jersey like he did tonight.

It all seemed pretty low class. He's been around the league long enough that he shouldnt have had to celebrate this win like it was a playoff game, unless he took a little extra pleasure in sticking it to his former team, which it appeared he did.

So you're mad because he seemed more emotional than normal? Nevermind the fact that he's done that same thing with his jersey this year, why would you expect him to treat this game the same as every other game, regardless of his comments. You think Jefferson, Gomes, and Telfair thought of this as just another game?

Coming from someone who was at the game....KG did not direct his anger at Minnie management / players / city / fans etc at the end of the game.

He went to each side of the court and popped his jersey and screamed as the fans cheered him on. He's done this several times this year as mentioned previously, and he did it when he was with the wolves.

As you guys know having seen him for a long time, he plays with an amazing amount of raw energy and sometimes that pours out in the form of swears and/or being pumped.

He just made two great plays at the end after coming out of the game hurt.....it's nothing personal.....cut him some slack.

Sometimes it's difficult watching a player you've invested a ton of emotion into over the years wearing a different jersey, especially someone like KG who was the heart and soul of Minnesota. But don't be angry with him, be angry with management for never being able to surround him with the chips needed.

Just know that you guys have some really good players to build around and the future's looking bright.

I think he was just pumped for sealing the game. He said that he loved his fans in MN, so maybe he was just upset with the management. He's just happy to be on a really great team.

Anyways, good set of games for the wolves. It's not like we "need" to win games. At least we're keeping them close. Now they need to play like that every game

Good game. Celtics had no business winning that game. I do like the wolves because half of the roster played for the Celtics last year. I do miss Jefferson as he is just about the only major bright spot for the Celtics last year. Good luck the rest of the way.

T-Wolves fans I know exactly what your feeling. We had the same type of mixed emotions about Shaq when he was traded to Miami. The gloating he did pissed a lot of us off.

More then anything our city was split in half because of it. I posted something on KG a few weeks back in the General Discussion thread about his trash talk and how it was going to come back to get him.

I always like KG but he's rubbing me the wrong way now to the fact that I don't respect him as much. I hate gloaters and karma will take care of him book it.
