Hey even if he doesn't get traded we can still appreciate the man.

To be fair, there is no deal yet. I hope this is not a response to my comment. I was told 100% that Al was going to be gone, but there is nothing in stone yet.

I am curious what we are getting in return.

Opposing frontcourt players absolutely LOVE playing against him, he will score on you, but he will let you score at will too, even if you're old/washed-up.

Hyperbole, lies, and slander. He's no defensive beast but his opposition doesn't blow up on him everytime he has a big game.

I say he's no worse than Amare on D and Amare is considered one of the best players in the league hands down.

Look at the numbers he put up before he got hurt. You can't tell me you wouldn't be worried about catching one o those beat downs when/if we played against him. We have nobody on the squad capable of pulling that except maybe Love on a night where he is blazing the net. Darko sure as hell aint going to be putting up numbers like that.

I really hope that he isn't dealt. He's a very (uniquely) skilled player who wanted to be here and is better than he showed this year. Of all the players, picks, etc. this team has he is by far the most difficult to replace, and the idea of attempting to do with a pick is scary and almost certainly doomed to fail. If this is about "fit" with the new regime (as it likely is) than I will be even more disappointed.

Yea just unbelievable stats by Big Al. When he's healthy people are jump back on the bandwagon. I remember he was on All-Star status and got dogged in 2008 and now we are talking about trading him for BS expirings and Z-Bo who is one of the leagues biggest cancers. What do we accomplish on getting rid of Al? Overpaying for Rudy Gay or getting another big in FA that puts up the same (if not worse) numbers as Al? Give me a f****n break.

Here's another thing. Why do Al and Love catch all the heat for the defensive play? If you watched the games last year, you would see that our guards and 3's where just as incompetent. In fact, due to their piss poor ability to keep their man from blowing by them, Al and Love looked even worse because they had to help when everybody and their grandma decided to take strolls into the paint. Flynn, Brewer, Gomes, Wilkins, the whole damn team couldn't stop a turtle from getting inside. If you put Al or Love on a team that had good defenders and played good team defense they would suddenly look like average defenders. The whole team was hot garbage last season. And any given night someone would skin our hides and take home a nice Timberwolf rug.

It's a sad thought to think this team was better than we were last year. :nonono: Everybody on that damn team (at that point in their career anyway) was a scrub sans Al.

I'm fairly sure that barring any more major injuries that Al Jefferson will again be a 23/11/2 guy going throughout his prime. I mean obviously he isn't going to be a great defensive player in this league but i'd also say that he is also a product of what's been around him defensively.

He is actually the entire reason why I was able to get behind drafting Wes Johnson #4 overall because in my opinion they're a pretty sweet match for each other even if Wes Johnson never becomes more then a 16/6/3 guy.

If you can get 39/17/5 from your starting forwards on good efficiency with one being a very good shooter/athlete and one being a post scoring/physical rebounder i'm not sure how you walk away from that without giving it a shot 1st?

I mean why trade him right now unless its a slamdunk of a deal? Coming off a year where he was clearly not 100%, picked up a DUI and generally wasn't himself? That contract becomes a much better trade value a year from now and he's likely to be considered worthy of it once healthy again.

They make this deal and they'll be left with nobody to fill the role of go to scorer when it seems very clear that they're already short two other go to scorers.

It'll be a very sad day if Jefferson is shipped off to another team. Big men are hard to come by in this league and with him healthy he is near unstoppable in the paint.

Bynum/Gasol
Perkins/KG
Robinson/Duncan

Cousins(Favors)/Jefferson I think thats right up there with those duos. Throw in Rubio and 1 other playmaker and we have a team that can go places.

Me too, but I think we all realised it had to come some time. Even with Love coming off the bench there was no real way for them to co-exist defensively.

Unless Kahn is a liar, then If he can get Pekovic over this season, then Al will be traded. If not, then Al may start out the season with the wolves....
