It's an interesting question and I guess it all comes down to Lebron. The possiblity of getting Love was a major reason he chose Cleveland I think. Would he have pushed for Love if the cost was a healthy Embiid? Not sure, but I think the Clev FO would have resisted the trade much more only because I think a healthy Embiid is a better prospect than Wiggins. But honestly, no one knows.

5 VC or DeRosen that is solid defense and solid offense
6 Gay that has slightly below solid offensively that is a solid defender
7 Batum or Ariza that is slightly above mediocre offensively and solid defensively
8 Wallace or Brewer that is mediocre offensively and solid defender

Lastly do you guys think Wiggins can be the best player on a Championship team or you think he can be the second or third option?

I think the best Wiggins can be is a Kobe Bryant, so based on that I think he can be the best player on a team since Kobe has won 5 rings.

No. 8 is his floor IMO, he walks in as a player similar to Brewer. The rest is up to him. Do I think he can be the best player on a Championship team? Sure, because his potential is limitless. Do I think he will be? No, because I think he'll ultimately fall short of that level. He can be that guy if he has help, though.

Personally, I don't get some of the categories you made. How is Kobe level only a 4? He should be at least a 3 and maybe a 2.

I don't think so. They would slide Varejao to PF and call it good.

Kobe is the same defensively as Durant and Bird but Bird and Durant are just way better shooters and are better than Kobe at many other parts of the floor offensively. Durant and Bird are way better clutch shooters as well. Kobe has under 40% from the floor with clutch shots throughout his career. Bird and Durant are much better than that. Its not like Kobe is that far down since two levels are taken by the best or 2nd best player of all time. I just didn't want to put MJ on this level list that may cause a MJ vs. Lebron argument. Which no one wants that right now. I do think Wiggins ceiling is Kobe. I can see him being a high level player with about 40% from the floor in clutch shooting and a beast on defense. I think he could end up finishing with a Kobe career. He currently is a 8 but I don't see him falling under group 6 when Wiggins starts his Prime when he turns 25. I just can't see him being any worse than what Gay is right now, decent 3pt, decent midrange, and solid defender.

I agree. If they won't/can't go back to the true retros, these would be fine. I loved the all black ones.

I don't know if it was agreed upon, but it seems pretty clear it was discussed before the draft. If it wasn't discussed I have to think Saunders would have traded Love prior to the draft.

I know Doogie said all along Flip would take Wiggins if he had the #1 pick, also Marc Stein said he heard Cavs took Wiggins knowing Wolves liked him a lot.

I'm sure there were some hypothetical discussions beforehand "if LeBron comes here, we'll trade you Wiggins for Love." etc.

I think Brian Windhorst agreed with Simmons' theory in the BS report interview

There most definitely were talks a WHILE ago, even before Broussard said on draft night "Love would be open to signing long term in CLE if Bron is there". CLE even took the LONGEST to pick in the draft and they had the #1 pick, something was up.

I agree, like I said I can see Wiggins either becoming at best the next Kobe and his medium I could see him becoming the next Paul George. PG doesn't have the most consistent shoot but he is a good defender.

AP Sports Guy was on a Toronto podcast today talking Wiggins and Bennett (staying), a motivated Flip and more. Nothing groundbreaking, but good listen for a Friday afternoon:
