I wouldn’t mind keeping Okogie. He can be a defensive specialist and im sure the wolves can sign him to a super cheap deal.

Hey, you guys catch that Magic game?

Gordon, Fournier, Clark

for Beasley, Rubio, Culver
-you have too many SGs, we have too many PFs, we take Rubio off of your books, Fournier expires (you may want to keep him)

You had me at Beasley for Gordon & ORL 2021 SRP.

That could be #31-34, give us Nowell or make it a 2rp swap option for MIN and we can go home to our wives with our work here completed.

The Wolves only have two veterans with some value... Beasley and Rubio.

- Beasley seems to have been a solid signing. But are the Wolves 100% sure of the auxiliary stuff (legal issues/judgement) that comes with Beasley?

- Rubio and Russell didn't work. Rubio has improved closer to what was expected of him. But would he be happy getting 20 mpg off the bench for a bad team? And more importantly, how are the Wolves getting value from his $17M annually if that's his role?

You’re right...I didn’t factor in the value of that pick at the top of the 2nd Round. I’d hate to include Nowell in the deal but we have a glut of players at his position and Gordon could excel in our system.

I think our wives would be proud. Now what kind of deal can we come up with that will convince my wife that I need to golf more?

Good post...I feel the same. If Rubio had been playing this well from the start of the season, his trade value would be quite high for playoff teams needing a PG. The same could be said about Beasley’s trade value if he didn’t go “Marijuana Commando” on the Cleaver family.

I’m torn about possibly moving Ricky. The impact Rubio appears to be having on Ant and the team as a whole is nearly impossible to assign value to.

Note: It didn't work out under Saunders. I wouldn't rule out them going back to the well and trying it one more time.

This is true. I think Finch will have much more of Rosas’ ear in deciding who stays and goes since Finch/Rosas have such a long history.

Tough to give up Beasley because his contract is amazing, but his value might be as high as it'll ever be. I'm not saying he's complete as a player, but with Dlo coming back as well, there's too many mouths to feed on offense. Then there's the defense which everyone pointed out (and my main concern). It might actually be best to trade him now. Knowing the Wolves luck though, we'll probably regret it as he somehow turns into Ray Allen 2.0.

Wait to trade beasley for draft night. He can still get his value even higher if he comes out hungry after suspension.

Plus gotta wait to see if Rosas drafts Jalen Green.

Not another Green in the NBA!

Anyway, the problem becomes finding minutes for all the players we want to develop, and/or prop up their trade value.

Jalen Green moves like a future star, Ant and Green will be an exciting high flying duo IMO. I’d draft Green and then trade Beasley and Culver.

DLO
Green/Ant
Ant/Green
Gordon?/mcdaniels
Towns

Looks great to me.

I’ve seen a lot of trade deadlines, and I generally feel like I have a good idea who’s on the trade block. This year though, once I put KAT, DLo and Ant to the side, I have no idea.

I didn’t feel this way three weeks ago, and I think the reason why is that we have not seen what Chris Finch intends to do with DLo.

There just aren’t enough guard minutes available for the Wolves to be productive, maintain trade value until this summer, keep people happy, and develop their youth. But how Finch plans to use Russell (and how strong Rosas’ influence is over him), will likely determine if Rubio or Beasley, (or neither or both?) get dealt. We don’t know that yet, and have no evidence to form a strong conclusion.

With Rubio playing very well right now he is prolly safe for now. We will use the last half of the season to try and determine DLo’s fit/future direction. Finch will have some very upfront and personal interaction with the team the rest of the way ... challenging players, role clarification, rotations, and accountabilities. Day by day I see less chance of any trades.

Trading Edwards for a vet Forward is likely what should be the correct move, is what trading the #1 was always supposed to be instead of gutting your own good players and good contracts and moving sidwards. If Rosas had traded the #1 overall and Edwards been who he has been this season so far for another team, only a couple Wolves fans would be talking the what if game about drafting Edwards. The team would have had a much better season and more would be happy. So trade him now and correct all this before we give away proven players, proven everygame competitors on good contracts like we did with RoCo just to end up with a hole where he once was. The second Suns game was reality with no reliable shooters again.

Edwards for Gordon plus a top4 protected Magic pick. We all need to remember that Gordon will be an expiring into UFA next season and he may demand more than he's worth to stay in MN. Especially if Edwards is still here shooting 18-30 times a game and making nearly everyone else outside Towns a spectator here. How would Wolves make the most of Gordon with Edwards here?
