I hope we don’t have to roll out Jmac/Bolmaro/nowell/prince and moose tomorrow lmao

I believe this is true. Paul George tested after experiencing symptoms Thursday.

Sucks.

I thought LA would beat Nola pretty sound tonight…but this changes literally everything. The line jumped almost 5 points to Nola -1.

I doubt LAC could beat NOP even with PG. JV is going to destroy Zubac and CJM and BI are both playing very well. I doubt PG13 and Powell could contain or outscored them.

I agree it would suck if some of our guys got Covid or placed on H&S protocols because of PG.

I don't think we need to out rebound Memphis to win, we just need to keep the rebounding battle from being a disaster.

This and take care of the ball. MIN and MEM are two highest scoring teams in NBA. Limit our TOs and make most of their.

Agree … keep is simple and fundamental.

This is going to be a very tough series. I don't think this is a team that the Wolves can play from behind against in a game or in the series. I love the lack of playoff experience on both sides and as many have mentioned, which on paper could make this 2nd seed vs 7th seed matchup more variability in outcomes. If KAT balls out throughout the series, I like the Wolves chances. Especially after that Clippers game and the ensuing criticism, the team will rally around KAT if he starts heating up

Looked back through the box scores of our 4 meetings during the regular season.
Russell was lights out and had 4 great games.
Ant had 3 good games and one stinker.
KAT had 3 good games and foul trouble in the 4th limited his minutes.
That game was the one where Steven Adams played the most minutes.
How much time the grizz give Adams is a big question for this series.

That 4th game, which we won despite giving up 26 (yes 26 that is not a typo) offensive rebounds with KAT and Vando both getting in foul trouble, is the one that has me a bit worried.

I think to win the series we can't let Bane, Brooks, Melton, and Brandon Clarke get hot. Bane especially has been hyperefficient this year. It's going to take great team defense and doing a great job both not fouling and challenging shots at the 3 point line.
I think it would be smart to have a more balanced offensive approach to take pressure off of KAT after his performance in the play-in game.

We also need for Russell and Beasley (and maybe even Prince) to heat up from 3. The grizzlies are a better defensive team than the Clippers. They may not have to load up on KAT to stop us. It's going to be harder to get to the rim, Ja, Melton, and Bane are all very good defenders and JJJ can defend both the rim and perimeter. If you look at how we played them in the regular season, we match up very well, but the grizz also shot pretty poorly in those games. But we matchup much better with the Grizz than we do the Suns.

I think we will win at least a couple games and am cautiously optimistic we can win in 6 or 7.
Then bring on Jokic and the Nuggets!

Anyone notice batum last night on Brandon Ingram and CJM? He was possessed. Obviously he’s a smart defender who’s been around…but he’s also strong enough to body KAT and quick enough to trouble Ingram and McCollum.

Pretty big series for KAT to prove his distractors wrong about him struggling in playoffs

I was looking at some of Memphis's stats this season and what's striking is that they aren't really a good shooting team despite having great offensive rating. They have 4th best offensive rating but are bottom 10 in EFG%, TS%. Where they excel at is getting those extra possessions due to their offensive rebounding in which they are best in the league

So games will be on ESPN and FSN. Fun. I'll record both and maybe rewatch if the games are good.

Huge series for KAT, he has to shut a lot of people up. If he had a terrible series it will be a big time funk that will haunt him for the next 12 months.

We going to use this for all the games or create actual game threads? Guess it's quiet enough around here where we could just use this thread.

That week off for Memphis is showing. We need to assume that they will get it together sooner than later and press this advantage early. Like I told my father, we need to punch them in the mouth early and then press the pace to delay their recovery.
