4 FRP (really 5 because of this year's) with only one having any protection, plus a swap, plus a bunch of expiring contracts and/or cheap useful players.

Utah fans are super happy , you know this is horrible.

We are? I think the value was about right for a trade with no clear centerpiece. I would have rather traded Mitchell and kept Gobert. Not super convinced the fit with Towns is perfect, but the Wolves are the best team in the West as of today IMO

Hey, if it leads to you posting around here every once and a while then it's a solid trade in my book.

Honestly, I'm going to get the Wolves on league pass this year and follow them. I need a respite from Danny Ainge dismantling my team lol and I love Edwards and Gobert. So you probably will see me here : )

I think we gave up a lot of picks, but we really didn't send out any good player or prospect. Beverly, Beasley, and Vando in all reality are bench players, replaceable. Kessler was a guy that some of us liked, but a lot said we overdrafted, and is still a middling prospect. Bolmaro is the same, he was a middling prospect, and had a disappointing rookie year. We still have depth and young guys, and we still have a handful of 2nd round picks, plus you can always buy picks anymore.

Jazz have been a better team for so long with Mitchell/Gobert/Conley. Well we have our version of Mitchell, who should be even better in Ant. Dlo is close to Conely(better now, but I think Conley was a better player a few years ago), and then you add in Kat, a top 15ish player onto that team?

Connellys whole thing is that he's good at drafting. And the idiot threw away all of his draft capital. This moron. Idiots. All of them. Picked up a center who can't shoot for **** and has a worse free throw percentage than I do. This will go down as one of the worst trades in history. I don't know what the protections on the picks are but unless they are all lottery protected we are ****.

Gobert shoots 70 percent from the line, he has improved dramatically over his career in that regard.

I just don't understand why the team felt it had to push every chip into the middle of the table for Gobert and his max contract? What was wrong with Turner or even Ayton? Neither or those two would have cost the amount of capital Minny spent on Gobert.

Or Capela he would have cost like 1/5th of that probably.

so you did or didn't like the trade?

It's been a few hours and this is still a horrid trade. I honestly don't think we'll make it to the WCF once in the 4 years Gobert is here.

Pretty sure it is going to be standing room only before too long. Ticket sales and prices will both explode because of this deal. Our big 4 will be fun.

For me it's a very bad trade, we gave too much. Gobert neves was my first option, the one I preferred was Turner that it'd cost much less both in picks and players.

If this thing doesn't work we are really ****.

Turner? The guy from Indy who’s been swept out of the playoffs 3 times in his career and doesn’t come close to grabbing 10 boards a game…that guy?

This, plus isn’t he the guy who basically said he didn’t want to be anything short of a star. Boy was he gonna be disappointed playing next to Ant and KAT (not to mention Dlo and MCD who can both low key burn like a star any given game.)

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
