It's a shame how quickly his demise came. It seemed one day he was an all NBA candidate and the next day he was worthless.

How true is that? I'd stay far away from Kemba. Sometimes father time just arrives without warning.

I'd like to see the team add another point guard to see if they could play themselves onto the roster. Guys I'd look at would be Dennis Smith, Kris Dunn, Eric Bledsoe, or maybe even Dennis Schroder.

I agree he is very washed and a shadow of himself. That said, is his career really over? I mean he can still score, and his passing is still decent. I am not really pushing this as I don’t think much of him either, but is Bryn Forbes really that much better (for the same money, and with this roster?)

Every time I hear Kris Dunn I see Jamal Murray. Yet another tragic Wolves draft that left me shaking my head.

This is probably the last move for the Wolves since they now have 20 guys for training camp.
One thing that is encouraging is that the 14-20 guys in camp (Knight, Rivers, Paschall, Lawson, Elleby, Garza, and Dozier) are pretty impressive as a group. I don't think the Wolves have ever been in a position where they will be cutting guys that are legitimately NBA caliber players. It should also make training camp more interesting since the last couple of spots on the 15 man roster (and maybe the two way deals) look like they will be an open competition.

Thanks for posting that. I’m sure it’s a training camp deal, so he’s likely staying in Iowa.
One thing this off-season tells me is that MIN is trying to win now. Spots on a team, whether it’s G-League, bench, or deep bench, are limited resources, and a team can only control a limited number of players. Picking up a guy like Dozier (25), gives the team an option to bring up a player with NBA experience if we have a rash of injuries or a Covid outbreak. We should also have a very effective G-League team, since other teams use these spots for young guys they hope will be NBA players someday.
This also should give Connelly some insurance if he sees another consolidation trade. Outside commentators dwell on the picks, but we also traded 5 players, and PatBev, Vanderbilt and Beasley were all in our top 6-7 players. Gobert is great, I think SloMo will do well, and guys like Nowell and Prince will have to step up. But if we play well and an expensive star like Lillard wants to join the team in trade, it may again take multiple salaries to match, and could really hollow us out. Having players with NBA experience like Dozier and Elleby (and Forbes and Rivers, to some extent), leaves the door open without sacrificing wins, if Moore, Minott and Garza aren’t ready for a playoff hunt.

I think that if healthy, Dozier has a legitimate chance of taking Rivers roster spot. I could see Finch deciding that Dozier's defensive potential is valuable enough to keep around.

It is interesting that we are seeing shades of the Timberbulls approach of FO with the TimberNuggets. I have no idea who was available, but the signing of former TC players tells me two things. 1. TC maintains goods relationships with former talent, their representation, or both. 2. TC likes going with the guys he knows rather than guys who he has not worked with or scouted. Going to be interesting in years to come to see that play out.
