Rivers was a mess up, no question. But KAT can defend the PF. Most of the defenses woes are the backcourt failing to defend the ball. KAT and MCD keep getting pulled into the spin cycle trying to cover for them. Ant was supposed to be the next PB, instead he is playing like Dlo. Dlo meanwhile is playing like Nowell from last year. We need a POA defender who can run the offense and force defense from distance. At this point replace Dlo with Anderson and run Naz as PF.

So far the front office has had some big misses. Rivers and Forbes in particular have brought nothing in games. Not looking good.

Gobert and Anderson maybe? to Nets for Simmons and Joe Harris would fix a lot of issues.

Maybe something is going on with Ant. He just doesn't seem to be a part of the offense except to get it on his own. They are being asked to move the ball but with what purpose? To shoot a 3? There must be more. We can get that 3 anytime without a pass.

Finch has got a lot of changes to make.

Micah Nori says it's all about competing. We're not he says. It would help to make some shots.

We're now down by 18. If we can get it down to 10 by the 4th we've got a shot.

Why did D'Angelo Russell just stand there on the poke away? Just baffling.

Say what you will about Beasley and his inconsistent shooting but one thing I loved about him was his energy and confidence. He wasn't a good defender but he was a scrambler and played with energy. Not having him along with guys like Bev and Vando who scrambled and played hard is really hurting right now, the guys we have right now just don't know how to play with that same aggression.

Also looks like we really need some guars who can attack the rim, we have none of that. Ant and Jaylen can sometimes but they aren't good enough. We get no free throws either.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

Ant out of control Iso, tries to make a very difficult pass, gets tipped to Russell who hesitates and then bricks it. What is this offense?

Russell uncontested layup and bricks it. A decision needs to be made.

I just can't get over how badly Minnesota blew it by trading Patrick Beverly and Malik Beasley instead of D'Angelo Russell.

I'm concerned about it too. Internal issues?

Just need to get it to a 12 point game by the end of the third, but it's not going to happen.

Really glad that Minnesota got Bryn Forbes to replace Malik Beasley for an eighth of the cost.

This team is incredibly dumb. Out of control on both ends.

I don't think the Utah Jazz would have hung up the phone making that swap, for what it is worth. I am fairly confident that Minnesota could have retained those two in favour of D'Angelo Russell, given the package.

I think Minnesota made a decision and made the wrong one.

I hate this 3 pt shooting offense when we miss most of them. You'd think we'd mix it up.

I agree. I’m sure the Jazz preferred the salary we sent. But that wasn’t their priority. It was Kessler and the draft assets. They would have taken an expiring Russell, even if it would have taken longer to make the deal.

probably true, can't see the Jazz saying no to that haul if Wolves insisted on Russell rather than the guys they sent

I wonder how much input Finch had if any, since it was clear last year Russell wasn't really his type of PG with his deliberate way of playing

Totally can see the Wolves going from the mistake of giving Thibs all the power to having a GM/coach not on the same page

Incredibly frustrating. I know it's still relatively early in the season and we play without Gobert, but how long do these excuses count? I am losing faith and start seeing things incredibly black. Very, very bad body language... no system on offense and defense.
