I think people are scared because of the adjustment period to this team relying a little bit more on its offense than it did last year

Offense was flowing with him on the bench. And why ingles is in idk.
Ant is shooting 41 percent from 3 at a crazy volume. Why do we not want that?

The defense will be there when it needs to be. But the wolves don't have to be the best defense in the league in the regular season. The regular season is going to be all about getting that chemistry down

I'm good taking lumps. This team, it's style, is much more different than expected with the kat trade and phasing away from conley minutes. Didn't quite see us reinventing ourselves, but ok with it.
Could we at least attempt to box out?????

I actually thought they did a good job getting Gobert involve. It will open up other areas. Just remembered one bad shot by Gobert.

Yes he’s shooting well right now and we want the consistency. But it feels like he’s “hunting” vs playing in the flow.
I personally feel like he’s pressing as well instead of letting it come to him. When you compare his play to other stars, he appears to be sped up and lacks a feel for the game.
I’m just not seeing what he learned from the Olympics either. To shoot more 3s? I just want to see him make the game easier for himself and teammates but it just looks hard right now.

Ant needs to attack the basket more. Enough with these contested threes

Ant is shooting 50 percent on 3s. That's very very good!

Great 3rd. More defense, less TO. We play well against a very good team Go Wolves!

Maybe if the defense is better, the offense will look better. I am thinking it's Randle and Naz that stands out for me. JMcD still not getting smarter. Conley just looked old and not stopping anyone. Gobert isn't going to win DROY this year for sure.

Sometimes the eye test is just as important. His numbers so far have resulted in a 2-2 record. Of course there’s other reasons that have contributed to that other than just Ant. I just don’t think him shooting 15 threes a game is a winning formula.
He was well on his way to a 50+ game against Dallas but we saw how that ended.
I’m not saying he’s playing poorly by any means, just that I’d like him to not fall in love with the jumper. Takes away his strength of driving and putting pressure on the opponent.

Offense is great. We score near 100 in 3 quarter, come on. We find Rudy a lot, shot well. Problem is defensive one and giving TO, not the offense tonight.

If your shooting 41 percent on 15 3s a game that is also putting pressure on the defense

Wolves just missed 3 straight lower wing 3s? Why take those early in the clock? It's is the worst spot and you can always get open there. Just bad shot selections.

Re: Game 5 (2-2): Nuggets at Timberwolves, 8:30 p.m.on ESPN
I think the vibe so far is, this team just isn't as fun to watch as the team last year. I think a big part of that was the surprise factor but also, we were just so good on defense, it was really fun to watch us flourish. This current iteration will likely get a lot better as they gel and the fun factor will also grow but as of right now, yea I don't feel that same joyful vibe we have last year. Kind of reminds of the year we got Butler and we were good but it didn't feel as fun as it seemed like it should have.
I don't think it will be this way for long but that's just my feeling in the first 5 games or so. I will feel better and enjoy the team more when we really start to find this teams particular grove.

When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

I might just be too old school then. One player shooting 15 3 per game just isn’t it for me. It bails the other team out. Get to the rim, get fouls and get in the bonus. This helps a team immensely in the long run. I just want to see him mix it up more is all.

We kind of need the naz/Randle lineup to work.. but, it won't against some teams. Need a defensive minded center for 8 minutes a night.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
