We have a pretty good defensive SF that isn’t a knucklehead.

So, I have a reasonable question.

Randle opts in or out on his PO.

I'm guessing 70% opts in, 30% someone offers him a contract, 0% extension.

I mean… I don’t think that I would make that claim about Jaden.

One time thing (he also didn’t know it was a wall) vs a history.

We actually need ANT to get close to SGA level.

So... After KD trade my FA targets would be:

- Tre Jones as backup PG, can drive to the rim, gives effort in defense
- Day'Ron Sharpe as backup C
- Larry Nance as backup C

ANT MUST improve to be a top 10 player. If he doesn't then we are stuffed.

He absolutely is not top 10. Not statistically speaking.

Ant is closer to top 5 than he is to being out of the top 10, especially factoring in Tatum's achilles injury. He needs a way to close the gap to the top 3 of Jokic, Giannis, and SGA. He's already right there with guys like Mitchell and Brunson but I'd take Ant because he can't be hunted on defense like they can.

Team just needs to build a better roster around him. Wolves are fairly deep but Randle (who impressed me this year) is not up to the level of being an elite #2 like Jalen Williams, KAT, or Haliburton/Siakam. Plus as much as I love Rudy, it's clear that being a rim protector and a floor spacer is extremely important once you reach the end of the playoffs and Rudy's lack of offensive ability really hurts.

Statistically, 9 CAT he is closer to 20 (ranked in at 18 this year).

Teams with players like Brooks generally win. Run both Jade and Brooks for complete defensive shut down line ups.

It sure does.

We seem to have some Wolves fans that take far more joy trying to discredit our accomplishments rather than acknowledging our great success the last 2-3 years.

I find nothing enjoyable about that approach yet fully concede there are always ways for our organization to continue to improve.

Are you using fantasy basketball rankings to determine his rank? Because thats a horrible way to determine where someone is ranked. Fantasy values 1 rebound or 1 assist more than 2 points which wouldn't be the case in actual basketball where they'd all have similar value. Fantasy basketball rankings would tell you Dyson Daniels is better than Jalen Brunson and that's obviously not the case.

Re: The 2025 Wolves Off Season

Post#60 » by Klomp » Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:01 pm

The Minnesota Timberwolves had multiple concerns about trading for Kevin Durant, which is partly why the 15-time All-Star didn’t land with the organization after making an aggressive pitch for him at the trade deadline.

The Timberwolves were concerned about trading for Durant when Minnesota wasn’t on his preferred list of destinations. In addition, the Suns desired Rudy Gobert in trade talks, and losing their French defensive anchor to pair Julius Randle and Kevin Durant in the frontcourt together wasn’t seen as an ideal pairing defensively, HoopsHype has learned.

Minnesota has maintained that re-signing Naz Reid in free agency is a priority, as previously reported on HoopsHype.

Depending on whether Minnesota retains Randle and Reid in free agency and at what price, re-signing Nickeil Alexander-Walker could be challenging with the 26-year-old expected to command the full non-taxpayer mid-level exception, as previously noted on HoopsHype.
