judging by your post, you will probably be done as a wolves fan, in the next year or two, i hope you find a team who suits you.

Turner with the triple double...nice. I don't think he's a great fit with Brewer though. I think he would push Brewer to the bench which is fine. Neither has great range. Turner hasn't even shown college three point range yet. I'd take him. Like others have said, I see a younger Joe Johnson.

I hope we get all three picks. Unlike last year, this is shaping up to be a great draft with star talent on top and depth through most of the first round (if everyone comes out).

The last player we should be worried about drafting around is Cory Brewer.

I could not disagree with you more. I think Turner has a very, very nice jumper but not 3 range yet. Turner can play the 2 or 3 at the pro level. He handles the ball and is the scorer. I think he would improve Brewer.

I see no reason why Brewer and him could not fit together.

I'd agree. Turner + Flynn + Healthy Jefferson + Love is enough offense to cover up Brewer's shortcomings there and allow him to play to his strengths. Although I'd also be even happier with a starting 1-2-3 of Flynn/Turner/Gay, Flynn/Turner/Wallace, or my favorite Flynn/Turner/Iguodala. In the last 3 scenarios, Brewer is pushed to the bench, but I'm not crying about it.

Turner is a beast. Seriously he's going to play some point this year too I guess. I want Turner and Aldrich. Imagine if we could just ship out Al for a stud wing(no idea who) Then we could take a Greg Monroe?

Also Turner has a pretty good mid-range shot, great handles, great rebounder, defender, very strong, good passer. Someone said Joe Johnson, I think him with a little Brandon Roy?

As someone said, fitting a draft pick around Brewer is something we shoudn't be worrying about, but if we actually thought Brewer was a long term starter I would worry about a Turner/Brewer combo on the wings. The NBA is about having a couple of stars and then a bunch of players that fit specific roles. One of those roles that needs to be filled is AT LEAST one shooter on the wings in the starting lineup. I think Turner can eventually develop some range on his jumper but will he ever be a deadeye shooter? Probably not. With a Flynn, Brewer, Turner, Love, Jefferson lineup who keeps the D from just sagging in whenever Flynn penetrates or whenever Jefferson gets the ball? Love is probably the best shooter of that group but you don't want him hanging around the perimeter looking for the kickout, you want him around the basket looking for the offensive board.

All that said, I love Turner as a prospect: great handle, unselfish, boards, very good defensive player. You pair him with Flynn at the 1 and a shooter at the 3, that's a nice perimeter lineup.

Here's a radical idea...

Trade Big Al to NJ for an expiring and their 2010 draft pick.

Draft Turner and one of Aldrich, Montejunas, Favors... you get the idea, another big.
Use the capspace to to bring over Pekovic and to sign Rudy Gay...

Bigs: Pekovic, Love, (Montejunas would be my choice here)
Wings: Gay, Turner, Brewer
Points: Flynn, Sessions, (Rubio in waiting)

Rotation guys: Gomes and Hollins
It's a bit crazy, but I wouln't mind rolling with that...

If you were trading with NJ, I'd want Brook Lopez.

BTW, if Turner keeps up with his play all season, he'll be a top 3 pick next June. He followed up his tripple double with 24pts. 65%fg, 17rebs, 4asts, 2stls, 2tos

regardless of if he goes 3rd or 10th or 2nd round, two things are certain:
1. Turner will be awesome in the NBA 2. he'll be awesome for a team that isn't the Wolves

this is the world we live in

Kansas played tonight. Aldrich got 11 pts, 9 rebs, 4 blocks, Henry got 27 pts on (8-12, 5-8 3pt,) in his college debut, the boy can shoot. Turner and Henry and we are set on the wings.

I'm a KU fan, and I did not expect Henry to beast it up like that...Maybe we could go Aldrich with our first pick(if Turner and Wall are gone) and then Henry in the 14-15 range.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
