It’s all posturing. I think the Spurs, Warriors, and Kings are all very interested. Wiggins wouldn’t be the centerpiece, Kuminga, Wiseman, and Moody would be.

I could see something like:

Wiggins, Moody, Kuminga, and 2 protected Charlotte picks to the 76ers.
Wiseman to Charlotte
Simmons to GSW.

Would give 76ers young pieces/picks to flip if/when a star becomes available.

What’s sad is that I think Wiggins has equal or more value than DLo, which makes giving up the #7 pick hurt.

Charlotte traded for Kai Jones. I'm not sure the Hornets would give up more picks for Wiseman.

They say that until they get him. Then 90% will say yes. It's a lot like so many Wolves fans saying they wouldn't trade McDaniels for Simmons. Being loyal to who you got now.

I would be very happy with Simmons but please don't let go McDaniels....

It would be nice but I think it's almost impossible. We actually might get Simmons, but it will be more expensive than many people on this board think.

I'd say that Beas, Prince or Bev, a couple of 1sts or swaps, McDaniels or Naz is the price we'd need to pay. Maybe even Dlo instead of one of the assets mentioned before.

Yea he's not coming cheap. I think McDaniels is pretty much a guarantee to go. Only exception may be if they covet Dlo.

Yep. Fans almost always overate their talent and underate other teams talent. I am not sold on Simmons but I don't doubt he would be a massive upgrade over anything we have outside of Towns or Ant's potential. This is a DPOTY candidate player we haven't seen that here since KG. That's a massive addition. Logically McDaniels shouldn't even factor in to that, maybe not Edwards either. I will be sad if we lose some pieces but I'll going nuts rooting for Simmons as soon as the season starts (unless he's just awful for some reason).

I am going to be pretty irate if in the end the trade creates a hole in the starting lineup, we should only trade for him to round out the starting 5, not create a hole and give up ways to address it.

But I have faith we see all of this.

I believe Russell has more value than Wiggins and much more value to us. Wiggins just a terrible fit on the Wolves.

Fox for Simmons makes a lot of sense to me. Sacramento would still have Haliburton, Mitchell, and Hield in the backcourt with Simmons/Barnes at forward. Fox would give Philly another non-shooter but one that can give them some shot creation on the perimeter.

These articles are all posturing. Until they make a deal, they are publicly going to say they aren’t giving up anyone, only way to not upset your current roster if a deal doesn’t happen.

I'm thinking you're about spot on with what our Max Offer would be for Simmons but look at our roster before and after such a trade:

Before the Trade:

C KAT/Reid
PF McDaniels/Prince
SF Edwards/Okogie
SG Beasley/Nowell
PG Russell/Beverly

After the Trade:

C KAT/Reid
PF Simmons/Prince
SF Okogie/Bolmaro
SG Edwards/Nowell
PG Russell/McGlaughlin???

Our lack of depth after a Simmons trade would ensure the Wolves have the worst bench in the NBA. The Prince and Beverly acquisitions are being very underrated by many on the board IMO and we all love McDaniels' potential. They are very good NBA players and all three (3) will play extensive minutes for the team this year if they stay.

Acquiring Simmons would bring a sense of excitement to the franchise and we'd certainly get a ton of national media coverage compared to what we normally receive. I'm just not convinced that the trade MPLSwolves listed above would really improve the team and I haven't even factored in Ben's borderline bad contract. When the dust settles, I think Simmons ends up in SAC.

I would make Milsap a priority signing with the full MLE 2-year deal. I really like the balance and flexibility of the resulting roster:

I don't put much stock in these guys because they are on expiring deals. Maybe they provide depth this season, but we need to have a longer term outlook than that.

Beverly specifically isn't going to play "extensive" minutes.

I’ll be stunned if Beverly doesn’t average at least 20 minutes per game, some of which will be next to Russell.

Beasely, Beverly, McDaniels, Unprotected 2022 FRP, 2022 SRP (Washington).

I wouldn't offer more than this, and because of that, I think Toronto might beat us -- Toronto fans are throwing out Siakam plus other attractive assets, which I think beats our package.

I don't want to give up D'Lo for Simmons.
