Any minutes Beringer and Dillingham earn are going to be pulled mostly from Gobert and Conley respectively.
It's going to be hard to see either carving out more than 8-10 mpg at least to start.

Shannon is probably going to get all of the minutes backing up Jaden and then whatever backcourt minutes are leftover playing with DDV.

I can see Finch giving DDV another run at seeing if he can be a lead ballhandler if Mike struggles again.
But it wasn't smooth when they tried it last year.

DDV does not need 30. JB should have most/all non Rudy minutes so we always have a rim protector. Conley should not be playing 24 and DDV is likely the backup PG.

Where they belong, on the bench, as the next man up. TSJ, Dilly, and JB all are more important than Clark.

He's in my rotation:
PG: Mike (16), DDV (16), RD (16)
SG: Ant (30), DDV (9), Clark (5), TSJ (4)
SF: Jaden (30), TSJ (10), Clark (5), Ant (3)
PF: Randle (25), Naz (20), Jaden (3)
C: Rudy (30), Naz (10), Joan (5), Randle (3)
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Historically 5 minute rotations have not been kind to young players. Randle going down to 28 minutes while Naz gets 30 will have interesting results, could be bad for morale, or not, (I just don’t know.) Mike dropping to 16 minutes is also interesting. I had him at 20, which represents 10 minutes per half. You had him at 16 which is 8 minutes per half. I had TSJ at 20 you have him at 14. That 6 minutes turns into 3 less minutes per half. Overall I see why you did it the way you did, I just don’t know if it will have the intended result.

TSJ will play for sure and Rob too. I do hope Finch run a 10-11 guys rotation this year. Some of our players getting old and we have to be smart.

I think you are underestimating La Berricade. He is ready to contribute this season certainly and maybe even from day one.

Is there any world where DDV is a lead ballhandler. To me he's a wing sg/sf and never a PG.

*****this is going off the minutes post, not sure it's a summer league thing, but responding*****

I'm guessing Tim has been holding off making a move to check the progress on a couple of these young guys and to get an idea where Joan is playability-wise. There are two players Right now on our summer league team who look like they should get regular rotational minutes TSJ and Joan . Let's play skeptic for a minute and say the Wolves do trade DD for an avg starting PG

PG - DD trade, Conley Jr
SG - Edwards, TSJ
SF - McDaniels, ?
PF - Randle, Reid
C - Gobert, Beringer

Run two PGs and Dilly getting minutes when available (situational/rest Mike)

SG/SF can have 96 minutes to divide between Edwards, McDaniels and TSJ. (Lack of 3pt kinda sketchy here)

PF Randle (30), Reid (18 pf 10 c)

C Gobert (25), Beringer (13)

If DD can bring back a 35%+ 3pt shooting PG who can take care of the ball and push tempo it's a dangerous lineup. Good luck finding that, oh and respectable on defense. Also, I really don't think the minutes for PF/C are going to go smoothly, but I would be happily proven wrong.

Sexton and a lotto protected 27 pick (they have 4 1's in 27) for DD, Rob, and Miller....is about the most realistic I could find...but who knows what the Hornets are doing.

our guy Wendell Moore 9 for 13, 6 boards 22 pts in 22 minutes. Only credited with 1 steal, but he was attacking the ball a lot on defense, getting his hands in there. Probably won't make their roster though since they brought in Jase Richardson and Tyus Jones. Not a lot of free roster spots on the perimeter unless they move Jett Howard or something unexpected. His three point might be slowly improving though, maybe he can find a spot somewhere this season.

Yep, DDV proved last year he's no PG substitute. He is not a bring the ball up the court guy in pressure situations.

La Berricade is so much better. Kind of like a French version of The Glove.

I really hope you are right and me wrong. He is impressive but i still not convinced about Summer League level versus NBA. But i see La Barricade taking Rudy's job within 2 years :).

Totally agree. DDV is a wing for me too. I hope he does not play much PG and let min to Rob. I also hope Rudy does not play more than 30 min per game and give a try on LA Barricade at least at early part of the season. 8 Man rotation is a mistake for me, specially when you have few players over 30.

It's too long. Baron J is how his last name is pronounced phonetically.

There's nothing cool about BaronJ. If you find La Berricade too long just take out the La or should it be Le. I think that's it. Vive Le Berricade. Are there any French speakers out there who can help? FrenchMinnyFan?

If there is any legitimacy to the fact that he has a decent shot, he may go from barricade to barracuda

That made me laugh out loud. Well more like chuckle quietly, but that's still an accomplishment. I just double checked and the French word for The is Le. Vive Le Berricade.

Watching some condensed SL Washington Vs Brooklyn. Alex Sarr is lanky. Finished the game with 16-12 and 8 swats. Danny Wolf with 5-10 and 7 stocks.

Wolves tip off 5 hours away. Detroit and Wolves both 2-0 SL playoff implications. Go Wolves. Any updates to our personnel? Will TSJ be taken out? Is everybody healthy?

Its so early, but I may have been wrong about Jase Richardson.

16.5ppg, 1.5rpg & 2.5apg on 72.2% TS (50% 3P + 73.9% at the rim) — 16.7% AST + 2.5 A/TO while taking on lead guard responsibilities.

I really liked him at MSU. Right up until he measured in at 6’ tall. I didn’t get PG or even really combo guard vibes at MSU. Thought he’d be a Beal type scorer, which is tough at that size. If he can play the point, that changes everything.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
