Is there anything to not like about KAT? I'm struggling to find something right now. There are things he's not great at yet (foul prone), but its not to a point where its something I don't like about him or his game.

It's extremely early to tell yet but I'd say he's relied on that 18 foot jumper a bit too much at times and that has impacted his ability to draw fouls. He'll learn how to improve the balance in his game so that he can get to the free throw line a healthy amount of times per night. Otherwise he's been stellar.

Right it's like I go down the check list...

Post scoring. Check (better than I expected)

Outside the paint scoring (jump shot at least as advertised)

Passing. Check.

Offensive rebounding. Check.

Defensive rim protection. Check.

Defensive rebounding. Check.

Enough agility to get out on the perimter for isolated possessions and guard perimter players if he gets switched. Check.

I honestly haven't seen anything Towns do that hasn't at least surpassed my expectations for what he's been able to do early on. As a Minnesota sports fan, this is the first figure in a long time that if you even try to argue from another perspective you are coming up short.

He's a total monster. So people who are afraid of monsters under their beds might not like him. :P

But the fact that he hits/attempts that jumper opens up the whole dribble drive thing he's been doing with some success early on.

Long time Minnesota Fan even if I'm new to the board. I watched the wolves growing up from 03-05 and started watching basketball again in 09 following the Wolves pretty religiously.

One stat that jumps out to me in the Okafor/Towns debate is initially what their Opp. FG% at the Rim is. Okafor's is at 60.4% (Love/Pek territory) vs 48.5% for Towns. After years of watching teams have free run at the rim for dunks & lay ups it's beyond refreshing to see teams get challenged/swatted into bad shots or misses.

Also love his hustle. The dude lays it out like he's on the last day of a 10 day contract.

Obviously he will go through growing pains and headaches but I wouldn't be surprised at the end of the year if people say he's the best center prospect in the last 10-15 years.

I just have to admit, Towns is way better than I thought at draft time. He seems so good at everything. He looks like an MVP type player.

I was up on my soap box trying to tell people!

Spoiler:
Though I didn't think he'd be this good, this fast.

How he is playing right now is what I pictured for him as a 3rd or 4th year player.

As a Bucks fan I'm glad he's in the West. He's a good one.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think it's pretty telling how good he is when he's blowing people away even with all of the hype surrounding him being a first overall pick. Even with Wiggins he has his haters and all of that and there were articles comparing him to James Posey even and tearing him down a lot. Everyone including a lot of really knowledagable NBA people basically just looks at this kid and from Day 1 has been like yup. He's it.

KAT is one of the few young players that has a game that is undeniable already. That is INSANE for a 19 year old.

As a Wolves fan, I really hope that the NBA restructures the divisions in the near future and puts the Wolves in the same division as the Bucks. It sucks that the NBA doesn't take advantage of the built in regional rivalry that the NFL has built up over the years. Minnesota should really be in the same division as Milwaukee, Chicago, and Detroit.

It's not even a situation like Dwight Howard where he is amazing at a couple of things but still has major weaknesses to pick apart. He is just so good. And LIKABLE! That's a trait that should not be understated.

Honestly, he's one of the most complete young players I've ever seen. And that's going back a bit. Not a lot of players have come in as ready to play as this kid. He's pitch perfect for the style of play of this basketball era. Big. Mobile. Skilled. Confident. And Coachable. Ya' got a young Vince Carter and Tim Duncan on your team here. Someone needs to talk to the City about a parade route.

Already have one that's been used three times in five years. We know the route.

He's way ahead of where I thought he was and I thought he was the best pick at 1 by far.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.
