The difference is also 5 years. We talk about some of these guys as finished products, when in fact they are really not close to that. Ant gets compared to Michael Jordan, but the MJ that on 6 titles in 8 years.....not the one who didn't win a playoff series until his fourth season and didn't win his first championship until his seventh season.

Yes, agree. I also think that success is not always linear. DM had success in UTA at around same age as Edwards, but after that he had first two mediocre seasons in CLE. Garland spent first four season battling through injuries and improving his defense and his skills. This year CLE have a new coach, but also they finally can "run free".

P.S. It looks like Gobert-Reid-NAW-DDV-Conley is our best lineup so far. It drives me crazy, that MIN have so much talent, yet fail play consistently

I agree about our best lineup, but what makes it so good is the ball movement and defensive rotation. These guys are listening to the coach, following the scheme, playing for each other, and playing much better than the some of their parts.

I'm guessing this was what minimus was trying to post.

Since our best five man lineup doesn’t include Ant or Randle, it means it’s going to be hard to find guys minutes from the bench.

So guys like Rob, TSJ, etc will have tough time developing until prob next year if kept.

What do we think is Rob’s ceiling with THIS team? I want to see him play, I just don’t think he’s a good fit here.

Who’s the better player between Naw and DDV? Does TSJ have a chance at being better than either one? Does he have a chance to start along side Ant over Jaden?

I think this team strongly needs to consider what they can get for Jaden, Julius, Rob, DDV/NAW.

Mike can’t play the whole game and NAW/DDV can’t and shouldn’t play significant minutes at pg. Too many guys play the same position and it creates an issue with flow, rhythm, continuity, etc.

This is a question, not a statement. If Mike is best with the bench mob, and the starters are going to struggle no matter what, should Mike leave the starting lineup in favor of Dilly? If not Dilly should we go point Ant and work in someone like TJ or Minott? All questions as I don’t have the answer myself.

I was thinking about this as well but didn’t add it. I think you have to pair Mike with Rudy.

Ant is not smart enough to have him at pg. That’s something I just don’t want to see consistently. I like Rob with Ant but this is also a problem because I think you’d have to give Rob a green light in order to take advantage of his strengths.

Even though I think Jaden is a big X factor for us if unlocked, I think he eventually becomes the odd man out if he doesn’t improve or if coaching doesn’t put him in position to help offensively.

Minott…I’m not a fan.

Mike, Naw, DDV, Naz, Rudy since they work.
Rob, Ant, TSJ, Naz, ?? This unit I think would play with pace and get out in transition. Which is sorely needed.

Sorry, guys. It is combination of iOS18.1.1 + TapTalk app + RealGM that makes such weird posts. I should not post tweets from mobile phone anymore.

Tomorrow game will be interesting. Clippers got Nowell back. I'm a bit worry to see that last 2 games, our best line up are when ANT and Randle did sit. i'm expected Randle to make the same effort tomorrow, DDV as well. ANT will be better as well.

Ant and Randle both have a lot to lose, (in different ways of course,) this season. If this trend continues where they are both significantly worse in plus minus than the bench mob plus Mike and Rudy, then they will be motivated to change.

Nowell?

He plays (badly) for the Pelicans.

This is what's happen when you got big finger and use your phone to post :). Powell is great by the way, i will trade him for Randle immediately. Sad we can't...

In last 6 games Naz is averaging 1.5 SPG and 2 BPG. This development makes me feel a bit better about our backup С position, but he is shooting 20% from three point line.

I told ya! McDaniels as low man is another possibility to get the best from our defensive versatility. I am not telling that Jaden should be full time PF, but I am sure that Finch can use him against some opponents to create favourable matchups. This dynamic can be important to determine our long term vision of PF position. IMO, MIN might take another step forward by making Reid/McDaniels our PFs. It might require additional adjustments tho, like adding a full sized wing in rotation who can play SF/PF behind McDaniels. Hopefully it is Minott.
