OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Two years ago, Derrick was a college freshman, so probably not.
Really? Evans value has gone down. If you think it will go back up, that's buying low.

Evans... I can see a couple ways. But basically my thinking is this. He's a gamble, and whether you think he's a good gamble has to do with how you think he'd respond to Adelman's high expectations. If you think that he would focus more and execute better, then you take that bet. If you think he's too likely to retreat into ego and pout, you stay far, far away.
The one thing I think I recall hearing that would bode well for him is that he plays hard on D every possession. I haven't seen him enough to vouch for it, but if true, he would get a little more credit from the coaches here than he would otherwise.
From there it's just a question of whether he can take instruction when the coaches expect he will actually follow through. That's where I start to worry.

He isn't a gamble. You are gambling whether he is worth the salary that you are going to give him the year after. He has one more year left and at this point he is an awful defender, high usage rate, and lowest efficiency players in the league. Sacremento is in the bottom of the league in shooting fg% and he is the pg with 23% of rate. His team is also one of the worst defensive teams in the league. This means, he flat out sucks.

I was saying that two years ago, Williams couldn't get you Evans because Derrick was a college freshman at the time.

not saying this is the deal they need to make, but for the sake of winning important games, one of Wade/Lebron needs to go. A middle of the road PG and a big body who can throw his weight in the post would change the dynamic in Miami.

Re: Adelman wants a "very aggressive" off season
Trade Derrick Williams, Ellington and 18 for Ed Davis and 8th, and Gary Forbes
Ed Davis becomes the first big off the bench for Defense. Use the 8 to pick Austin Rivers
A bit of a reach but he can serve as a cold blooded scorer off the bench. Younger, cheaper and more potential than a Lou Williams or Jamal Crawford.
Trade Jose Barea for Tony Allen.
Amnesty Darko, Let Randolph walk, Decline 5mill option on Webster
C. Pekovic - Big Body Bruiser, Inside presence
F. Kevin Love - Franchise player, Rebounding
F. M. Beasley - Robin to Love, Scoring
G. Tony Allen - Perimeter Defense
G. Ricky Rubio - Playmaker, Distributor
G. Austin Rivers - 6th man, Scoring
C. Ed Davis - Defense, Shotblocking
F. Wes Johnson - Athleticism, Versatile
G. Luke Ridnour - Spell Rubio
F. Anthony Tolliver - Reserve, Spell Love
G. Malcolm Lee - Combo, Perimeter D
F. Gary Forbes - Reserve
This avoids making costly moves so that in the future you can afford to pay Pek and Rubio to go along with Loves contract. Resign Beasley and play him 35-36 mpg, he can put up 18+ in his sleep.

Why would Memphis make that trade? Terrible for them. And I definitely wouldn't be picking Rivers at 8 if that trade was made.

Re: Adelman wants a "very aggressive" off season
After watching a few more of Shved's games I think the dude can really play in the NBA and be quite productive. If Adelman wants a guy who can attack the rim as a playmaker and create pace, look no further. If I was gm I would do this.
Sign Shved
Sign Batum or Green.
Draft Fab
Problems solved.

If Gasol is available this summer as it's looking, and you can get him for somtething like DWill-Darko-Beasley (S&T) you get him and run.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

Yuck, so we don't get a good SG and/or SF?
