You might be surprised how good can Naz and DDV can be with good point guard

Naz is someone the team values as part of their core moving forward. People have a bad memory of Naz from the OKC series where he struggled with his shot. First 2 rounds he shot the ball extremely well. I agree with the poster before me, he would benefit a lot from having a true PG running the offense and getting easy looks for him. We saw him have a nice connection with Jmac in the past in the pick and roll. His defense and rebounding leave a lot to be desired, but he's capable of taking over a game with his shooting. Still just gonna be 26 years old and is a guy who's gotten better every season, close with our other guys, and a fan favorite.

Did anyone see the Memphis Orlando trade?? Was Bane really worth that much? Hope might that affect the market for other players?

If KD is not happening I'd love to somehow get in on JJJ/Pippen Jr. if MEM is blowing it up or maybe Markkanen and some combination of Keyonte/Sexton/Collins

Is Memphis keeping Ja Morant after trading away Bane for all those draft picks?

MEM just traded Bane for 4 1st round picks. So, we either could trade for Ja, although the asking price will be very high. Or we could trade Ant to them for 8 1st round picks ( for those that keep wanting to go back to rebuild). I am sure Gobert, Naz, Randle, and JMcD will fetch another 8 1st. We will start to build around Dilly, STJ, Clark, and the 17th pick

I have the same question. You trade JJJ and Aldama too?

I guess NAW to ORL doesn't make sense anymore

I didn’t see it coming, but it makes sense for MEM, and maybe ORL.

This next season will be a bloodbath. In the West, the only potential tankers are Portland and Utah (and perhaps now MEM), and they are just maybes. In the East, there is a brief window with Tatum out, and IND has to be making many teams think, “Why not us?”

With 25 teams all looking to make trades to improve their team, this is a perfect time for a team like MEM to be a seller. Lots of buyer, no cap space, so I think you are going to see high prices in picks for most major talent, as GMs need to outbid each other to actually improve their teams and keep their jobs.

Will this improve our return for Randle? Probably. Could it raise the price for Durant? Possibly (though PHX also claims they want win-now talent!). Since we’re a buyer, it’s not great news for us, other than we have players, not picks, to use for trade value.

Buckle up! This trade heralds a very expensive off-season!

Who trades that many picks for a non star or guy that doesn’t play that well in play offs and has questionable defense  orlando

Do the magic think Suggs or Bane are a point guard? :o

Would you trade Ant for 8 1st round picks. The 4 MEM just got and 4 of theirs (assume they have them)? Or 6 picks + JJJ?

TOR won championship with FVV/Lowry. The East is wide open after BOS collapse, all ORL need is a healthy season

They need 3pt shooting which they got now. Suggs, Bane, Wanger(s), and Banchero is a good core but do need a PG

It looks like teams will be desperate to acquire more shooting. At this point Id be happy to keep Reid, NAW/DDV and trade Randle and #17 for Cameron Johnson and one of Brokklyn late 2025 FRPs

Why would johnson be worth more than Randle?

I'm still not sold on Suggs. Love the defense, but he's been a good shooter 1 year out of 4, is owed a ton of money and appears to be made of glass.

Orlando gave Memphis the Gobert special for Desmond Bane? With that contract?

Do you think GMs call each other now and ask about players and the other guys go, " well he's not on the table, but if you wanted to give me the Rudy Gobert platter I would listen".

Should make Orlando a lot better though. Bane adds shooting and some playmaking and with him and Suggs in the backcourt their defense should be pretty good.

I wonder if Memphis would be interested in flipping Cole Anthony for Donte Divencenzo and one of those first round picks.
Would be pretty cool to own both 16 and 17 in this draft and they have almost the same contract with Anthony making slightly more.

Would have to be executed in July when our apron restrictions drop off.

The fit is like Booker and Beal when Suns first acquired Beal and convinced themselves along with their fans that they would really work  but I doubt Bane will be as big a disaster as Beal has been.
