We never had Markkanen so we can't have him back and I'm not interested in LaVine or Dunn. Give me Harris, Richardson, or Porter.

idk man, Lavine's been looking pretty damn good and Dunn would have offered some much needed defense but hindsight is 20/20 I guess

Bottom line is that the Bulls are still probably a lottery team winning around 30 games this season, if Jimmy stays, the Wolves will win 50 games and make serious noise in the playoffs. You guys might even get a HCA playoff series. That would be heaven coming from a Bulls fan. I would love to go back to getting to the ECF's or even winning a playoff series.

So what? A decade and a half of watching boy scouts with pure souls like Wes Johnson and Derrick WIlliams lead us to the 14th seed, and I am sick of it. SICK OF IT.

As far as I am concerned, this franchise needs more unhinged and crazy people like Thibs and Butler, if it means we win consistently like last year.

If you don't like that, then catch a dvd and watch any of our last 14 years of boy scout teams

Id rather have the sane good players who don’t leak to the media when they don’t get their way 150%. There is a middle ground. How are other teams somehow able to put together a team that gets along great despite the FO not babying their star. If we have such low standards this garbage is just going to keep on happening with a revolving door of bad players and crazy players.

Not here there isn't, have seen this POS franchises history? Other than KG, just a bunch of boy scouts that went to the lottery every year. I don't care if they hate eachother, just win.

And if they don’t win? What if this chaos becomes an even bigger distraction?

I think you have to ask if Patton, Nunnaly, and the other two guys (sorry I forget and am tired of it all anyways) even touched the ball in this legendary game.

As of this point, with Butler, we're better than Portland, SA, both LA teams, New Orleans and we're on the level of Jazz, Thunder & Denver (ironically they're all in the northwest)

If we hang onto Jimmy and he causes no problems before the trade deadline, I can see the standings being like this

1. Golden State
2. Houston
3. Jazz/Thunder
4. Thunder/Jazz
5. Wolves
6. Nuggets
7. Clippers
8. New Orleans or San Antonio

Lakers are going to be bad in the Wild Wild West & LeBron is going to coast this year and work on his Hollywood lifestyle as his young team grows up

I agree with most of this. I dont think Butler will be around and mesh but if he did we would be in that range. Without him though its over. I think we will be way out of playoffs.

and read Michael Jordan "The Life" by Roland Lazenby and you'll learn just how dysfunctional the dynasty Bulls teams were off the floor. Now, those teams, both iterations, the first and second threepeats were complete sh**shows behind the scenes.

It'd be pretty untenable if he's in a Wolves uniform on opening night in Minnesota, no? He's gonna get the chit booed out of him, as will Thibs.

The Pat Riley cussing Thibs out story made me laugh.

Oh and Stephan A Smith was just on ESPN, said he has talked to Butler multiple times and wont go into detail but he flat out wants to be off the wolves. I have thought for a long time this isn't just a money thing or a players thing, I really do think he just wants to be in another town, probably one with more spark for him. I also don't think he particularly likes how we are run/play. He just doesn't want to say that and look like a massive douche so they are spinning this "they didn't take care of me, and no one wants to work hard" narrative.

I agree No one buys this from Butler and his team. I think he hates living in Minnesota, is sick of the midwest and doesn’t want to spend the end of his prime years there. So **** him . Send him to LA (for sga and harris) I’d lol if he gets sent to toronto or milwaukee though.

I think the tweet that mentioned Patton was a joke. Partly because of things like one legged Patton and 57yr old Deng, but it also had Tyus on the team IIRC. And there's no way he's a 3rd stringer.

If he's forcing the front office to trade him and/or undermining his team mates and being just over all a distraction until he gets what he wants (which is to be traded). Isn't there something in the CBA that punishes that kind of attitude? Sort of not honoring their contracts type of thing? Discipline him where it hurts the most, invalidate his contract or something.

The more that comes out, the more I feel the real issue is between Jimmy and Taylor.

Wait, all this drama and public tantrums is jimmy trying to not look like a massive douche?

Its one thing to look like "Hey people aren't treating me right and my teammates are trash." That way you can still defend your character and spin it as passion and not being treated with proper respect. Saying "Minnesota sucks, I'm bored, I want a cooler city." Opens you up to a lot more ridicule. This is just pure speculation on my part but I really feel he doesn't like Minnesota and he doesn't like playing with Thibs and our system. He just wants to bounce and these speculated reasons are more about painting his desire to leave in a better light for his reputation. They probably are factors but I think they are way smaller than the main one being he just doesn't like it here and would rather be in several other cities. Again my read on the situation, no sources lol.

I think we should look at Butler situation as Butler and Thibs are one thing together. I mean Butler behaivor is just consequence of Thibs being stubborn to trade him. The maddenes around practice was also a sign to Thibs: "you cant control me!"

Butler is what he is for better or worse. But Thibs should be responsible for this situation.

I thought it was a joke that one legged Patton was on a team.
And getting furious, looking for blood, and going all in for a few minutes when the opponents mostly think about whether you're nuts and are likely just trying to avoid a fight... Do you really think it means anything basketball wise? I'd probably congratulate them for keeping calm and not escalating the situation.

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat had basically agreed to a trade of Jimmy Butler for Josh Richardson, Dion Waiters and a protected first round pick.

Sorry, this offer is trash. The only question I have if it is true why we even started to talk with MIA?

MIA basically has nothing to offer I like.

Other than maybe an unprotected 2023-2025 pick :D

To me even Whiteside + Richardson for Dieng and Butler makes much more sense... If they offer Whiteside + Richardson + FRP for Dieng and Butler, I would take that offer and run.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
