Very few do. The ones who do usually have excellent NBA careers.

Can he? Of course.

Does he possess the necessary internal motivation to improve his body and game? No clue...but his raw skills are very apparent.

I hope he slides to 17. :)

Yeah, that is my assumption, at 17th, just take BPA and run.

There is a pool of bigs with interesting skillsets that might be available at 31th:

Alex Condon reminds me of Larry Nance Jr.: high motor, high IQ undersized big who can pass
Maxime Raynaud looks might follow the path of Luke Kornet and Quinten Post: full sized stretch five with limited defensive game
Yanic Konan Niederhauser has similar athletic tools to WCS. He is mobile and athletic rim runner, very raw

Would love to replace Joe Ingles (it means not many, haha) minutes next season with development minutes for another Aussie. Toohie is a physical, hiqh IQ comboforward. Great size for wing.

I feel like people are overlooking Ryan Kalkbrenner. The guys can just play. He may not be a starter, but the guy comes in and is easily playable at the backup 5. Skilled, good rebounder, good defender...might be matchup dependent on some levels, but most bigs are. At 31, I would take him all day.

Came here to identify my guys this year.

So far I like the bigs in this draft, particularly Rasheer Fleming, Thomas Sorber, and Yaxel Lendeborg. (would be happy with any at pick 17)

In the backcourt I like Labaron Philon (but not ready to give up on Dillingham) and Milos Uzan. (either with the first pick in second round)

At 17, I think it'll come down to a few guys:

Wings: Carter Bryant, Nique Clifford, Cedric Coward. I think Coward has risen so much, he might be first of these guys off the board.
Bigs: Thomas Sorber (defensive 5); Wolf (more of a Naz 4-5); maybe Essengue/Beringer (18 yr old Euros who I haven't watched).
PG: Nolan Traore - I know we don't a PG but I love a pass first PG and he's really improved the second half of this year playing in a pro league

My guys: Coward, Bryant, Sorber, and Traore. I'd be okay with Clifford, but I don't see a lot of upside in a guy that will turn 24 during his rookie year.

At 31, depends who falls, quite a few bigs I like: Ryan Kalkbrenner (actually shot it well at the combine); Yaxel Lendenborg; Max Raynaud

Perfect draft for me - Bryant, Coward, or Traore at 17 and Kalkbrenner, Beringer, or Lendenborg at 31 or in a trade up to late first round.

If it makes you feel better I saw someone on the draft Reddit make the same comment, so you're not alone in that.

Unless you're the same person in which case...shame.

Something contributing to the mistaken 9'11" standing reach is no space between the 1 and the half inch. It's there in other players measurements, but not in Queen's.

I wouldn't be completely fine with Wolf at 17 and Kalkbrenner at 31.

I think what happens in the draft comes down to leverage this offseason, and for that reason it's going to be a big. We're negotiating with two PFs, both of which we want to keep, and the loss of either is going to hurt us significantly.

If Naz wants to start, then frankly he's earned that, in a vacuum, but the problem is that Randle is utterly indispensable for this team, with his scoring, rebounding, and playmaking, and yes, even his defense. We've reached this deep in the postseason because of Julius, whereas Naz historically and even now has not been the best performer in the playoffs. (Yes, I know you could have said the same about Julius before this year.) Both of those guys will want a payday, with good reason, and if it comes down to one or the other, I'm pretty sure it will be Randle. So we need another big on the bench. Even if we keep both, there has been a lot of talk wanting Naz to NOT play center, and he clearly isn't a center anymore. With that in mind:

- Queen seems like a pipe dream unless we get into the top 10 somehow, and we don't do that without giving up more than #31. I don't think I've seen him mocked lower than 8.
- With Sorber, I love his motor and physicality, but his long range shooting is a work in progress. I would be fine grabbing him at #17. I think after the combine Sorber's measurements cause him to rise a bit, so I'm not sure he'll be there.
- Fleming's long-range shooting is good, and his defense verges on greatness (he and Sorber have very similar DWS), so I'd have to flip a coin on the two if it turned out that both were available.
- Danny Wolf is also really intriguing here with a great combination of size, passing, long-range shooting, and the size and mobility to play either C or PF. I'm most curious about him even if I'm not sure he's the best fit. I kind of think he'll have a Brad Miller-type of career, and he should be rising to his peak roughly about the same time that Rudy retires.
- The only problem I can see with Yaxel is that he's a little older; would be fine with him as well.
- Also, taking Reynaud with the second-round pick would mean going from one giant Frenchman to another, so I'm all for it for comedy purposes.

I really like some of the guards (Clifford and Clayton) that should be around at #17, but taking a big at #17 give us much more leverage in negotiating with Naz and Julius, which might be more important than whoever it is we decide to draft, and to be honest, it seems easier to get a impact player from the second round if that surprise player is a guard than if they're a big (although, admittedly, I need to research this, and yes, Naz and Joker are definitely exceptions.) What's more, I'm not ready to give up on Dillingham at this point (I get that some may disagree.)

Yeah, your list is pretty much my list:

17th: Sorber, Carter Bryant, Nique Clifford, Cedric Coward, Wolf, Lendenborg, Demin or Traore/Saraf
31th: Kalkbrenner, Beringer, Condon, Raynaud

Need more information about Adou Thiero, Noah Penda, Alex Toohey, Hansen Yang, Neoklis Avdalas and Yanic Konan Niederhauser. Really hope that in addition to 17 and 31 pick TC can add a promising player on a two-way contract, to make our g-league team great again.
