Minor overpay at most, and it will be considered a bargain after the next CBA, with the big TV deals, comes into effect.

Very happy to have to have him locked up, would have been nice to get him cheaper but hey, 3 of the 4 years will be under the new CBA so over the moon to have him locked up!

It's a big overpay based on conventional stats, but if you believe he has the impact on the game that the +\- stats say he does, then it's about right.

If you believe adjusted +/- numbers then it is an absolute steal as even a max deal would have underpaid him.

Did he sign the contract in the locker room?

Was it after yesterday's game and was the paper crumpled?

but TV contract reasons! As long as that 87 mil cap projection for 2017 is on point, it's fine. That'd equate to 9 mil a year under this year's cap.

I'm happy for Ricky. Is he deserving of this contract based on what he's done? Probably not.. But that doesn't mean he won't earn it. He's shooting with more confidence that any time I've ever seen him these last 2 games

I continue to be surprised Faried agreed to that extension, he's proven way more than Kemba or Rubio. Or Klay Thompson to be honest.

GREAT MOVE!!! Glad to see Rubio locked up!

Personally I believe some of you either haven't been fans long enough or just simply don't remember what it was like to have no PG like Rubio on our team that can very easily facilitate our offense. He is a great rebounder for his position as well as a good defender. For those of you who don't like this which direction did you prefer us to go? Any FA you think we could have brought here without overpaying, the fact remains that we have NEVER been able to attract good players here in FA, not even during KG years so what has changed so much that would make us a viable destination now?

Good deal! Happy that RR can grow without any contact concerns.

I think you nailed it. Even Chicago and San Antonio got rebuffed trying to get discounts from Butler and Leonard with their selling point being "play of a good team". Agent's are getting better at getting market value on extensions. Values can still be had, but there will be some catch like questions about character w/ Lance Stephenson, or age w/ Mo Williams, productivity w/ Aminu, guys like that.

Or way less depending what you believe in.

Faried -0.13
Klay 1.19
Kemba 1.36
Rubio 3.10

thats an interesting POV, I always thought he was more impactful than that

is "impactful" not a word? Google Chrome keeps underlining it.

Basically his only major positive team impact is on rebounding

I'm watching the Suns/Spurs right now and it seems like the Suns have 3 PGs better than Rubio. Rubio is basically just average.
