That's pretty much how I'd rank it too. I think Johnson has huge upside but not sure if I could not grab a big if the choice was presented.

Your #3, #4 pick scenerios

U asked about mudiay earlier. He is the best talent in the draft. He is kyrie like. No one sees it here. Same kinda player. Needs time to mature. Which would be ok as aback up here for Rubio.
Imo of course. We will wait and see on him. His over seas adventure plus getting hurt has knocked him down to the fourth best guy. Just like embiid and Noel fell.

My perfect scenario is we get number three pick. And philly gets number five.

Okafor
Towns
Russell
Mudiay
Someone will reach on wsc Cuz he is big and plays d. But has no offense and looks good where he is at or Stanley Cuz he just looks for real (I think he is)

Because of this (imo of course).
We trade philly number three to get Russell for number five and number 12. Grab Stanley Cuz he plays d period. I like him a lot. Or mudiay drops to five and I'm ok with that. And at 12 we get frank the tank. There's your big.

We need a big and a back up point. Solved in draft

So going into next year. Drafting mudiay example

Rubio/mudiay/lavine
Wiggins/Kmart/Neal
Shbazz/chase/wiggins
Payne /Bennett/kg
Pek/deing/frank/Hamilton

Trade our second round pick(s), chase, pek for joe Johnson who can play period.

So look like
Rubio/mudiay/lavine
Wiggins/Kmart/Neal
Joe Johnson/shbazz
Payne/kg/Bennett
Frank/deing/Hamilton

Or if we get Stanley Johnson

Rubio/lavine/
Wiggins/Kmart/Neal
Shbazz/Johnson/chase
Payne/kg/Bennett
Pek/deing/frank/Hamilton

Trade chase, pek, second round picks for deron Williams

Rubio/deron Williams/lavine
Wiggins/Kmart/Neal
Shbazz/Johnson/
Payne/kg/Bennett
Deing/frank/Hamilton

And I am content with moving with both these line ups next year. Yes both trades are over paid. But they talented vets. They fit back up (expensive) rolls. But we get to move on from pek and chase. Which seems to be our deal to get rid of.

Thoughts ??

I don't get the Kyrie comparison. Is it just because they were hurt most of the year before they were drafted?

Mudiay is getting very overrated. He is like Tyreke Evans but smaller. Inefficient player even in China.

Rashad Vaughn! Lol

Seriously though CSW if no Towns or Okafor.

I saw an idea that i wouldn't mind to happend in the draft day.

If we get the 3° overrall pick and Towns / Okafor are taken. A trade with Denver would be great.

(3) Russell + Pekovic

For

(7) WCS + K.Faried + ???

I mean, i know a lot of you guys don't like that much of Faried, but dump Pek contract and fill the PF with him (Faried) would be great. WCS / Faried would be a great frountcourt, defense, rebounding, etc.

WCS / Dieng / _________
Faried / Bjelica / Payne
Wiggins / Shabazz / Budinger
Martin / Lavine / ________
Rubio / ________ / LoBrown

What you think ?

To me if we are number 3, we take whoever falls out of Okafor, Towns, and Russell. That is no question to me.

At 4, its a bit more interesting. I would first try to find out who we like better between WCS and Porzingis. If one of them are can't miss and we really like that, I don't see why we don't trade down a couple picks and trade our pick to who is dying for Mudiay. I think also Winslow is a better prospect than Stanley Johnson. The possibility of having Rubio and Wiggins in the backcourt, and then Winslow/ Johnson at the 3 is just a monstrous defensive front. But essentially trade down and take your pick between WCS/ Porzingis/ Winslow/ Johnson.

I think its going to be inevitable that a couple of these guys' draft stocks sky rocket or plummet closer to the draft. I personally take Winslow over Johnson. Not only due to sheer talent. But scars of drafting Wes Johnson reappear because of the name (this is a joke, that has a little truth behind it). Need a few years before I feel comfortable with us drafting another Johnson. Also, WCS over Porzingis for me.

Orlando could be interesting. If they land OAK or KAT, Vucevic could be on the block.

Offer #4 for Vucevic. Of course filler and/or finding a third team for Pek (don't think Wolves want to pay Pek and Vucevic and Dieng...too much cap tied up in center position).

C: Vuc/Dieng
F: Dieng/Bennett/Payne
F: Wig/Bazz
G: Martin/LaVine
G: Rubio

I think Vuc is pretty untouchable. And if ORL gets Towns and pairs him with Vuc :o ....

My 3rd scenario would obviously be one of Okafor Towns Russell. 4th is interesting, it depends on what happens in about a month. But if Philly falls after us and we pick 4th, they sure have ALOT of picks to work with and they might like Mudiay. I wouldnt mind trading down, but also dont mind the thought of keeping Mudiay. Going to be a fun draft, dont sleep on those early 2nd rounders.

That is why we "give" the 3° pick. (Russell).

For them to take Pek contract.
Would be 2 in 1.

We solve the problems in PF / C positions and we get rid of Pekovic.

I couldn't imagine any kind of scenario in which I would give up an elite prospect like Russell to get rid of Pek.

You do not give up a "all star" caliber prospect to get rid of a (when healthy) still pretty valuable big men, especially when you do not have a need to get rid of peks contract. It's not like we're going to attract the last major piece in FA and need Peks money in order to be competitive.

Faried is also in the deal. It's not like we are dumping Pek for Russell, is:

Pek + (3°overrall pick)

For

Faried and (7°overall pick)

I would like a deal like this.

Again, if we draft Russell IMO we (Should) need to trade Rubio to fix the frountcourt "holes".

I'd rather take Russell and pay Pek than have Faried and WCS

So your goal is to limit the team, create new problems, just to fix 1 position on defense and 1 position in rebounding?

Better then keeping Pek in a suit and add another Guard. Imo

Why? If Pek is in a suit then it is bad, amd we might be looking into a medical retirement. What is the problem with another guard?

If you think a lineup of:

Rubio-Lavine-Wiggins-Faried-WCS

is strong enough to beat GSW then of course you do it. Imho not convinced this starting lineup would get us in the playoffs.
