Re: Wolves Power Forward of the Future?
I'd like a vet PF. We are too young as is, get me someone reliable and skilled. Maybe in 2-3 years, Jaden can grow into that position.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

I'll take Evan Mobley, but would settle for a Beasley-John Collins swap in the off season. I like Beasley a lot, but I think with D-Lo and Edwards he is a luxury for us and trading him provides us with more roster balance.

Dlo, Beasley, McDaniels, Reid, Towns
Rubio, Edwards, Layman, Juancho, Davis
Let the Points point. Let McDaniels lead the team by two way example. Everyone stay in their lanes.

Re: Wolves Power Forward of the Future?
Lineup for rest of season should be:
Towns
McDaniels
Edwards
Culver (starter but not starter minutes)
Russell
Rubio and Beasley come off bench early for Culver and Russell.
Reid, Nowell and Hernangomez are 3rd waive with Vanderbilt getting spot minutes.
Okogie, Layman, Davis and McLaughlin only see minutes if injury or foul trouble happen.
To close games starting lineup is preferred, but most likely firepower will be needed so insert Beasley for Culver.

Russell/Edwards/McDaniels/Collins/Towns would be a decent starting point next year

Re: Wolves Power Forward of the Future?
I'll be the Debbie Downer for a bit. Let's say the wolvesian luck continues through next year. We don't get the pick, aren't able to trade for a pick in the 15-25 range, we don't pull off a trade that gets back a legit starting PF. THAT is a likely but depressing outcome, but it has to be taken into account. In spite of the awful choices in free agency at PF (with the money we'll have to spend, or lack there of), we should still target getting defense and rebounding in the front court, even if it's from the C position. FA's that could be affordable that may provide that:
Biyombo, Alex Len, Richaun Holmes, Daniel Theis, Whiteside, Justin Patton (snort!!)
We. Need. BEEEF!! Whether it's from the PF position or the C position. Frankly, Theis could be a potential starter at the PF position and he'd be an upgrade to what we've got. He's listed as a C on a lot of sites, but he's 6-8 245, which is PF size really. A quote from an nbc.com article earlier this year is below.
Now I'll go 180 on the bit and go best case scenario for every player on the roster next year, including if we added Theis.
DLo / Ant / McD / Theis / KAT
Rotation players - Rubio, Nowell, Beasley, Okogie, Layman, Juancho, Naz, Culver
*Impossible to tell right now who will get minutes among those players, but in this scenario, Beasley is the 6th man.
Again, if all players "bought in" and played up to their potential, is that a 35 win team??? Does Theis do anything for anyone???
"With steady two-way play and a not-so secret sealing weapon, Daniel Theis quietly morphed this season from reliable backup big man into a key cog on what Paul Pierce dubbed the NBA’s “best starting 5.”W
The 28-year-old Theis does exactly what he’s asked: He sets screens and then paves a path for teammates to get to the rim; he hits open jumpers when defenders stray; and he competes on the defensive end.

The result? Theis is now one of the best values in the NBA while earning a mere $5 million this season (the rest of Boston’s starters combine for $79.7 million and that’s before Jaylen Brown’s extension kicks in next season). Theis is content to do the dirty work, all while his new sealing prowess has allowed players like Jayson Tatum and Brown to see their scoring averages spike.
When the season paused, Theis was averaging a career-best 9.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.3 blocks over 23.8 minutes per game, all while starting 57 of the 58 games he played. Theis’ 3-point shooting is down from a year ago but it’s one of the few things you can quibble with.
ESPN’s Real Plus-Minus metric ranks him 18th overall in the league, sandwiched between Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid and Toronto’s Pascal Siakam.

Looks like Jaden has won the power forward job for the rest of the season and future.

The only excuse they can make not to start McDaniels the rest of the way is if they want to “bring him along slowly” as a young player. I’m ever the skeptic with Rookies but this kid could could be something. I’m at a loss as to who I compare him to past or present. Put 15 pounds of muscle on Jaden and step back.

Re: Wolves Power Forward of the Future?
In the 5 minutes i saw him play against Randle and doing well. I'm convinced he can play the 4. Randle is your bigger PF in the league and Jaden held his own. 3 or 4 he can play.

Agreed! Let's do it.
It's great to know McD can play PF well when needed.

Re: Wolves Power Forward of the Future?
McDaniels did a great job of defending Randle yesterday in 1 on 1 situations...he forced Randle to take extremely tough contested shots. His feet movement is already so good on defense

Tell Rosas that. These are his players. I'm just sorting them out to get the most from each.TheZachAttack wrote:Jedzz wrote:Dlo, Beasley, McDaniels, Reid, Towns
