This is why I am confused about why the Wolves met with McLaughlin as soon as FA opened up. There was also the report Nowell would be given a larger role this season.

When you're largely an organization that relies on player development more than free agents, retaining your own guys becomes a large priority in the organization's offseason planning.

I think the PG position is one you can never have to much depth. If one goes down you always want to have a good enough back up where the offense doesn't stall out.

Pretty crazy to think Edwards is only a month older than Cade

I'm biased and idc but I would take Ant & Lamelo over anyone in this draft. I remember seeing lists of Ant being so low if he was in this draft class

They were idiots IMO this 2021 class was way overhyped and 2020 class underhyped. Green and Cunningham look okay but generational talent?, NO way. I would definitely take Green over Cunningham though, Cunningham looks barely 6’6 and not that athletic and doesn’t have the passing/rebounding ability of Lamelo.

Mobley looked bad the other day also but it is just summer league.

Cunningham has lost some of his luster with the height discrepancy -- not the 6'8" he was billed to be.

I’ve only watched Cade twice, so I’m completely uneducated. But he’s giving me vibes as a bigger OJ Mayo. Dominated at lower levels because of size, strength, and BBIQ, but just doesn’t have the athleticism to be a pure star in the NBA. People point out Luka, but Luka has really rare ball handle and wiggle/creativity I don’t see with Cade yet.

Green is fun. He is a taller, skinnier version of Ant. Probably shoots it better than Ant did at the beginning of last year but doesn’t have Ants power. Both of them going to be 25 point scorers in the league. The key is whether they make winning non-scoring basketball plays.

And Green has been tested against grown men. He should be able to handle the NBA. Cade is still a ? mark. He didn't look good in the one game I saw him, and he should be better considering the low end talent in SL.

Did I see that Micheal Beasley and Manimal are playing summer ball?

Just goes to show you how fast things can fall apart. They took the NBA for granted, but now want to come back. MB is an idiot. Geuss he couldn't live up to the hype in China like mombury did.

He's going to be the Damian Lillard of this draft. Glad he's on an eastern team

Orlando deserves it just like we deserved Ant. Yes there’s been bad management, but also bad luck where you get pick 6 in a 5 player draft and no one ahead of you messes up. Speaking purely from the fans POV.

How have guys felt about Nowell's performance....I get SL & all...so less about the #'s....The thing I was most interested in seeing was did he really have backup pg material?

In my opinion, that's been a pretty obvious no....lead guard maybe on a 2nd unit...but he's still always going to need a pg or organizer with him seems like?

Which is fine...still can offer a role...but our wing minutes much more crowded...

I remember someone was saying that Nowell was already better or on Beasley's level last year lol. He isn't there yet and may never be there. Right now he is streaky but he is a scorer and he looks like he has put more energy into his defense which is very positive. If Nowell does eliminate a lot of his streakiness and can be consistent. reliable scorer, then he can surpass Beasley because he has more tools than Beasley does.

It's pretty hard to develop the tools Nowell is working with but I think we should keep him around. He had some major flashes last season and the potential is there. A guard who can create, shoot off the dribble, and be average on defense, is a rare commodity. So he hasn't blown me away but I am still interested in developing him.

I think he wants to be really good and that alone is worth banking on.
