Hope not. Both teams have log jammed front courts. I feel like he wants some meaningful minutes to try and turn his career around, not just ride the pine for a ring at this point.

yea he would obviously start over here..25-30 mins guaranteed.

I would love to have Love back. We need rebounding help big time.

Bulls got that 1st for Lauri…assuming Lillard doesn’t demand out next season.

I agree neither side would want this. He is 100% washed. His effort and conditioning with the Cavs the past few years and Team USA was embarrassing.

Just hope Rosas knows what he's doing. Don't put all ur eggs in one basket. No risk no big rewards. We got rich owners now..don't need to watch out for their pockets lol. Hope A-rod's influence can entice Adam Silver to turn the timberwolves into a competitive team.

Sure seems like a lot of money to pay Lauri, but I guess it's comparable to what 'shooters' have been getting in free agency. Lauri-Mobley-Allen makes for a dynamic young front court.

Has an NBA team ever given up 200 points in regulation before?

Probably the single biggest aspect of defense is defensive rebounding which Love has always been a monster at. Has he lost that ability?

I'm very tempted for reasonable. He can still play! Does K Love have the desire? If not, gotta walk.

Yes? Can’t rebound off a lay-up line.

Yes? Can’t rebound off a lay-up line.

I just checked his stats. In 2018 he was still an elite rebounder getting 11 in 27 minutes. It went down a bit in 19 and down more in 2020 with 7.4 in 25 minutes. Still good, but far from beastly.

Went over to the PDX forum and seems most fans are incensed over trading a first for Nance.

I guess that's kinda been their MO lately. Last year, they traded their 1st on draft night for Covington. Trying hard to keep Dame happy, but these aren't needle-movers.

I mentioned earlier that I was surprised he brought back a 1st. Not that he isn’t a good player on a reasonable contract, but the way CLE was portrayed wanting expirings, and I believe their desire to move Nance to a good situation, I thought it would be a deal that was for a 2nd or two.

I wouldn’t have been incensed if MIN had offered a protected 1st. POR fans should realize too that some of that cost was getting off of DJJ’s money, since I believe he was so bad last season that he had fallen out of the rotation. I’m kind of surprised they were this angry, but it was an opportunity to get a deal.

I’m sure they just don’t see this as a needle mover deal. They aren’t winning a championship. They’ve made the playoffs every year forever. I think they were hoping for a big swing, like a CJ plus assets for Simmons deal. It might not have worked, but would have at least been a real change and gave them some hope.

Nance is a good fit. But this just encumbered future picks, making a big deal impossible. Thus, they are stuck in middling treadmill.

Rosas is clearly taking the opposite approach, going for a big swing. We’ll see if it works out.

This X 1000
Although this years Bulls team may take a run at it.

23 year old Kevin Love had poor lateral agility and massive trouble defending the rim.
32 year old Kevin Love is completely washed.

Good on the Bulls getting something for Lauri.
Scratching my head on Portland giving up yet another 1st to turn 1 year of DJJ into 2 years of Nance, even if it is lottery protected.
Cavs will be cavs I guess.

Thats too much $ for Lauri, especially when you need to play Mobley and Allen too. So much $ locked up in such a medicore frontcourt.

I wouldnt want either of those on the Wolves at those price points. May be much easier for us to find a 5 to play 15 -25 mintues next to KAT than a 4 if we miss out on Simmons. Derrick Favors for Prince+2nd.

Given our need for a PF what do people think about targeting Sabonis?

Kevin Love has played 25 games or fewer in 2 of the past 3 seasons.

He couldn’t even stay on the floor in practice with Team USA this summer.

He’s not the guy we knew and loved.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
