I hope McDaniels is ok. Not sure he's on the bench after coming up limping.

He will replace Beasley's shooting at a fraction of the cost.

I wasn't really sure what Forbes would look like, but so far I'm fairly happy with what he provides. I'm doubtful there are minutes for Nowell, Forbes, and Rivers and at least tonight the choice of who loses out has been pretty clear.

Knight has had a few good moments too.

Garza sure looked good on that inside basket. I hope he makes it.

A few quick takes based on the small sample size of one game:
- When healthy the Wolves top 8 in minutes will be Russell, Edwards, McDaniels, Towns, Gobert, Nowell, Prince, and Anderson
- Knight will get more minutes than Naz
- Forbes will play more than expected
- Lawson and Paschall will keep the two-way spots
- Minott will spend most of the year in Iowa
- I'm not sure what Dozier/Elleby not playing means, I kind of expected Dozier to get similar minutes to Rivers/Forbes

For anyone wondering about Jaden, reports say he's fine, Jon K says Wolves saw enough from him and Ant and kept em out the game.

I'm on my phone & too lazy to tweet the link

Wouldn't this make more sense if we were entering a playoff series rather than a preseason game? I guess we are going to either win or lose in 4 if the game doesn't go into OT.

Here is the overreaction after the first pre-season game:
1. Jaylen Newell and Bryn Forbes will more than replace Malik Beasley’s production
2. Ant made everything looked easy. He added a mid-range jumper, a couple good passes, had some easy AND1s
3. Forbes is the consistent/reliable 3pt shooter off the bench that could start
4. JMcL looked great at 5’10, could be a solid backup on any team
5. Overall team defense looked better than last year
6. Starting five: Gobert, KAT, JMac, Ant, DLow
7. Backup five: Andersen, Prince, Forbes, Nowell, JMcL
8. Bench warmers: Reid, Knight, Rivers
9. Like to have 7 or 8 players that could start on most NBA teams. I think we have 5 (Gobert, KAT, Ant, DLow, Andersen). Who will step up for the last 2 or 3 spots? I don’t think JMac is there yet. Forbes, Nowell, Prince all has a chance. Maybe one more trade?

Prince was playing PF with Rivers or Forbes at SF. Did you notice the extreme mismatches and the rebounding and defending issues? KAT and Rudy both out with Naz in foul trouble. Regular season that is an instant loss. We badly need another C, especially with Knight showing he is more PF than C.

Ever since the Rudy trade I have been saying we have the best starting 5 in the NBA. I would even take ours over Cleveland’s (who also have 4 potential all stars.)

Anyone notice Kyle Anderson scored no points tonight (0-for-2)?

Yeah, me neither, with 5 RB, 4 AST, 2 STL and a +14 that led the team.

Swiss Army Knife. We so need a guy like that.

He's exactly the type of player the Wolves need. Low usage, versatile, can handle and move the ball, and guard multiple positions. A very solid pick up.

I am still loving the fact we dropped 121 in Miami without Rudy, KAT, or Dlo. Preseason should depress the score, not inflate it. Very talented Wolves team. Even with Rivers and KA not scoring.

At a fraction of the volume as well. Dane Moore showed they are similar but Forbes is on lower volume to get same numbers. Liked what I saw from Forbes today

I think that’s what we’ll love about him as he seemed like he was a part of everything but the scoring.

Stop me from another drink if the KoolAid. :D
