Best win all year! Turkeys gonna taste better on a 5 game winning streak.
I have Haliburton on my fantasy team so i’ve been watching his games, I knew Jaden was going to lock him up tonight but still saw Hali had 14 assists, love his game but Jaden is a defensive MONSTER.
Everyone played well today

54% on the season. I took the liberty of adding an extra percentage point because I was assuming it wasn't calculating tonight's game yet.

Re: Timberwolves Vs Pacers Game Thread
Guard rotation is in a weird spot right now. Nowell might be in the process of losing his minutes to Rivers, and that hurts my soul somewhat as a Nowell homer. I didn't even like the signing because I didn't want some luke-warm veteran taking minutes from Nowell. But the team is in dire need of smart execution, and Rivers seems to understand what to do out there.
It'll be interesting to see how that shakes out, because I think everybody between Nowell/DLo/Rivers/Forbes/JMac has very specific strengths and weaknesses and can oscillate pretty widely between excellent and inept performance

I thought the Wolves looked the best tonight as they have all season. Ant didn't have tunnel vision and was making passes, Dlo wasn't trash, offense was being run and not just dribble dribble shoot, even thought there was more defensive effort.
Hopefully the tram continues to build on this.

Forbes has done nothing to deserve minutes outside of being a warm body.
Rivers can be a defensive savvy vet who can outsmart young talented guards. Kinda like Nicholas batum but for guards. Not a DPOY candidate by any means but make it hard for talented guards to score for some stretches of the game

He even hit Rudy with a lob pass! Pacers announcers were not please, they wanted a 3 second call.
Rudy had a crazy game too 21/16 on 9 for 11. Kinda quiet, I was surprised when I saw the box score, but he was just grinding all game long. Really impressive against a frontcourt that isn't small or anything, but he's kind of a monster around the rim. He was sealing position against Turner and Turner couldn't handle his size.
I don't like when he goes into Hakeem Olaujuwon mode though trying to create shots where he needs to do multiple dribbles. Anything other than straight line drives to the rim seem to end badly. If he wants to develop his offense, figure out a basic hook shot. With his arm length and height, he should be able to get that off every time.

Nowell has been a disappointment for sure. His 3 point shooting is just not where it should be. Everything else I can get past, but missing those wide open 3s just hurts my soul. That said, I am not sold on Rivers or Forbes either. I am still down for combining Dlo, Nowell, and Reid and trading with someone like the Clippers for some PG and PF depth. Getting Morris allows us to move Anderson to PG where he belongs. Getting Wall and Mann would be significant as well.

I think Ant had a couple passes to Rudy. I was shocked. Shocked!
If Rudy could develop a hook shot, he would have by now. As big a fan as I am, I cringe every time he tries to get fancy with the ball. You know that image of Michael Scott cringing? That's me. Everytime he thinks he has post moves.
Solid game by the starters all around though.

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Best game so far for this year! They were taking punches and punching back hard, they didn't have their meltdown and took care of business. They just melted all the momentum of this hot Pacers team. They took their souls with all the dunks they had today. Starting unit definitely is clicking, league better watch out!

Has Edwards ever been to the line that many times in a game?
And yet, Mathurin, as a rookie, is averaging 6.1 FTA per game, two games of 12 FTA and three games of 10 FTA.

23 turnovers and 8 of 22 from deep is unacceptable to be sure. But we did look a LOT better. Much closer to how I envisioned them before the season.

Nope and Ant showed he is a stud in the playoffs last season and still gets no respect.

Plus with some daylight our loss to the Jazz doesn’t seem as bad.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
