Minott is in his 3rd year. Is he definitely going to play SL?

My understanding is yes. Someone tweeted out that he is on the team.

Thanks. I think it's good to test him out in that environment to better see where he's at.

I agree completely. Last year he was running his mouth about earning respect and making people remember his name. Then he sucked for 4 of the 5 games. I am hoping this year he keeps his mouth shut and lets his game (which hopefully improved,) do the talking.

Connelly's right-hand man Matt Lloyd indicated after the second round that he expected Minott to be on the team.

I think 3rd year players in summer league is a little more of an accepted practice nowadays. As an example, Walker Kessler is on the Utah SL roster.

We can all see the athletic side of Minott. I've yet to see much that displays the "basketball player" in him, though. He doesn't even make my Top 4 most interesting guys to watch in SL:

1. Dillingham
2. TSJ
3. Miller
4. Clark

If I hadn't scheduled a trip to Minnesota to see family and friends (I really need to get my priorities straight :D ) I would be there and I would have been more interested in Minott than Clark, but it would be close.

Don’t forget Ledee. I suspect he might be on a two way before the season starts. The only question is for which team?

I hope for us. My reason for Edwards is it's always exciting to get a 7-footer that's athletic. It's also nice to have something like that in case Rudy goes down

Honestly we have so many dark horses here:

LeDee who might be the most physical player per inch
Edwards who has true NBA size
Clark who has NBA level defense
Rob who had NBA level offense
Shannon who might be NBA ready wing
Minott who is probably the best athlete in terms of running and jumping
Miller has the best in MIN SL roster combination of size and shooting
Nix ???
James Bishop IV?

You had me pumped until the Minott part. He is athletic, but he seems utterly useless at everything else except weakside help blocks.

Besides new rookies, I'm interested to see if Miller can show any progress. Few times we seen him he plays like Bambi on skates, not fully aware and control of himself. He has size and decent shooting touch. But wanna see him execute and look ok as team player for full game.

Yes, he is not much about... skills. However he has had some pretty passes and drives, moreover he is better at slashing than Miller.

Yeah, just stay in the game flow: get couple rebounds, deflections, hit open three, finish under rim. Dont turnover, avoid lapses, show high effort.

The thing I like about this roster is that it is a talented group, but not too talented to where the team would shut guys down after a game or two. We had that happen once about 5-10 years ago (Okogie sophomore year, perhaps?) and the team turned out to be quite shallow behind the vets.

This is a group with I'll say 5 "NBA guys" (Dillingham, Shannon, Clark, Minott, Miller), plus another handful of guys who have played in the Iowa system, plus a few others with some potential.
