Can’t believe people thought the Pistons pick would end up a second round pick..

If he can play the 4 I could see it. That seems to be the other major gap we have, aside from the 5, when looking at the future; an athletic 3/4 forwarded.

And I can't blame anyone for the Pistons pick projection. Most people were (and still are) in their feelings about the KAT trade and wanted to crap on it as much as possible, while the Pistons haven't had much of a track record of success lately.

McNeely is definitely a wing. He reminds me of smaller but more shifty Franz Wagner. IMO Jaden can eventually play PF more he has been rebounding a lot better lately as well.

Reminds me Taj Gibson with less defense and more passing.

His shot is pure. But can he contribute as defender, passer and rebounder?

He has a very particular set of skills that make him a nightmare for opponents.

I can see how a big wing shooter can fit next to McDaniels and Gobert, but in this case big wing must be physical enough to handle NBA level competition. Although I understand that some NBA shooters get there by gradually improving their bodies over NBA career. In other words, I want to add a big wing who is more Cameron Johnson (6'8" with some passing game) than Joe Harris or Taurean Prince

If we're looking to play Jaden more at the 4 I'd prefer TSJ get those extra minutes at the 3.

He's not the same shooter McNeely projects to be but I like his downhill attacking a bit more for a bench role.

I only seen clips of only one guy you all mentionned. I don't know the rest.

But what I seen is enough for me to want him if we can get him. Danny Wolf. He looks like a Sengun with less iso post scoring but more perimeter/playmaking skills. Some of his skilled plays in the clips gives me very faint Jokic vibes lol

That level of ball skill and playmaking as a 7 footer is not normal. Again solely based on the clips. Don't know what level of competition he is facing. But footage tells me he virtually can do everything on the court?

You know, last year I wrote a script about the daughter of an ex-CIA agent being kidnapped. I tried to sell the idea to Hollywood, but they told me it was taken. I said “how about I keep the same guy, but I have the kidnappers go after his ex-wife?” and they told me that was taken too.

I've heard that joke before from a standup comic but I can't remember the guy.

The question with him is on the defensive side, and maybe how his finishing translates. But he's definitely getting undervalued.

He had some flashes last season when Kolek was out that got me interested but he's basically gone from off ball shooter to elite decision making PG without missing a beat. He's older, obviously, but a smart team will take him higher than people expect and he'll still outplay his draft position.

For us, I'd say he could be a good long term 3rd guard to pair with Rob and Ant, since he can seemingly play either PG or SG (and is specifically not a combo guard, he can literally play 2 distinct and different roles at a high level). Whether the team would be interested in taking him as high as they'd need to however, I'm not sure.

Something some of you might find interesting, particularly minimus.

There's a statistical search I've been running in recent years to try and identify good prospects. Filter is as follows:

Min% > 40 (does the player play more than 40% of available minutes, so are they not an end of bench guy whose stats might be inflated)
BPM > 8
DBPM > 5
STL% > 3
BLK% > 2

The idea behind it is to try and identify great to elite defenders that are also producing offensively. It isn't perfect, as I'm sure no one has heard of DeAndre Williams or Michael Hughes but it did also pick up Tari Eason and Jamal Shead (I will be proven right on him, just wait).

This season there are 4 players hitting this mark:
Joshua Jefferson, JR, Iowa State
Collin Murray-Boyles, SO, South Carolina
Miles Byrd, SO, San Diego State
Carter Bryant, FR, Arizona

Jefferson is a transfer up from St Mary's, so the fact he's increased his production against better competition is intriguing. CMB is looking like a similar player to Randle, although with significantly better defence (he's still only listed at 6-7 though). Byrd is a rangy 6-7 wing who plays an impactful and low mistake brand of basketball.

The real interesting one in all of this is Carter Bryant. He's 6-8, athletic with what looks like a good wingspan. He's widely considered under utilised at the moment at Arizona (42% Min%, 16% USG) but is efficient offensively (62% TS) while flashing 3 level scoring skills and has the defensive stats (5.8 BLK%, 3.4 STL%). Watching him play, he just looks like an NBA player with the way he moves out there and while his TOV% is higher than I'd like, I don't think he's a dumb player. He is in many ways what we hoped Minott could be.

Unfortunately there's not much in the way of videos out there for him but I'll throw in a highlight video below if anyone wants to watch. I expect he'll be one of those guys that's mocked in the late 1st early 2nd range right up until pre-draft where he rockets up boards. And from everything I've seen so far he seems like someone the Wolves tend to like in a prospect.

Thank you, really appreciate it! I really like Carter Bryant games, he looks like raw version of Jayson Tatum.

P.S. I saw one analysis that was saying that young player with STL% over certain threshold have much more chances to succeed.

He’s old though he will be 23 soon. The Dunn, Culver, Moore picks have majorly soured me on these old-ish 6-4-6’5 scoring guards that aren’t elite outside shooters, natural point guards or super bouncy elite athletes because they usually bust. I really hope TSJ doesn’t join that group of three wolves busts.
